Job Description

We are expanding and hiring a Corporate Financial Controller on a remote basis to help us grow the business.

A Corporate Financial Controller oversees the accounting and financial functions within an organization. This role involves managing financial processes, creating management reports, handling budgets, and ensuring compliance with regulations. Here are the key responsibilities and qualifications:

Financial Planning: Collaborate with executive decision-makers to minimize risk and identify growth opportunities. Use advanced accounting skills to generate actionable insights from technical and financial data.
Budget Preparation: Coordinate and direct the preparation of the budget and financial forecasts, analyzing variances.
Financial Reporting: Prepare and publish timely monthly management reports.
Reconcile accounts monthly to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
Accounting Operations: Monitor and supervise daily accounting operations, including Billing, Accounts Receivable (A/R), Accounts Payable (A/P), General Ledger (GL), Cost Accounting, Inventory Accounting, and Revenue Recognition.

• Responsible for verification of the month-end, quarterly, and year-end closing.
• Review transaction coding and financial statements for accuracy, legal compliance, and alignment to budgeted expense coding.
• Cash and multi-year financial planning.
• Internal AR and AP planning 

Utilize accounting software such as Xero to maintain accurate financial records.
Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with reporting requirements and tax filings.
Financial and Internal Controls: Develop and document business processes, and financial and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls.

• Monitoring of the spending vs the budget and creating procedures that should ensure strict execution of the financial goals and budget
• Verifying if the initial financial data is correctly entered into the corporate systems 

Risk Management: Research technical accounting issues for compliance and support month-end and year-end close processes.
People Management: Leading a small team of financial specialists and coaching them to achieve financial discipline in the entire organization

Qualifications

• Proven working experience as a Financial Controller;
• 3+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience;
• Advanced degree in Accounting, Finance or Economics;
• Familiar with UK or German accounting standards, UK GAAP and/or IFRS could be considered as advantage;
• Experience working with Xero or other accounting software;
• CPA or CMA could be an advantage;
• Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures;
• Experience with creating financial statements and general ledger functions;
• Excellent accounting software user and administration skills.
