Fostering Clinician

Do you have a professional qualification in Psychology, Social Work or Nursing?

Are you registered with either SWE or HCPC?

Do you want to help us improve the lives of Children in Foster Care?

We are looking for a Clinician to join Norfolk County Council in our Fostering Service.

The Norfolk Fostering Service is a corporate priority as we recognise that family-based care is the best care for most children and young people.

We recognise, however, that many of our young people have significant trauma due to past issues and for some children this has meant that they have struggled with family life.

We want to be able to support children and young people to reside in family-based care, where possible, but both they and the foster carers will require additional support and resources to achieve stability and permanence for all involved.

This post is based in the Fostering Service and the expectation is that the Clinician will work alongside social work teams in an integrated, trauma- informed service that aims to improve outcomes for children and young people and their foster carers.

Norfolk’s social care model is a relationship-based, purposeful approach with social workers practicing in a trauma informed way, incorporating therapeutic approaches within their work with children and young people and foster carers.

If you have both the qualification and experience of working with vulnerable children and their network, we would love to hear from you. This is an exciting time to be part of the Norfolk Fostering Service and to be delivering extraordinary input to those who will most benefit from this.

Before you apply, we recommend reading the full Job Description and Person Specification to help you demonstrate you meet the criteria.
