Job Type: Permanent 

Location: This role could be based in our London or Edinburgh offices with time spent working in the office and at home.

Flexible working: All of our roles are open to part-time, job-share and other types of flexibility. We will discuss what is important to you and balancing this with business requirements during the recruitment process. 

Salary and benefits: c.£70,000 depending on experience plus 16% bonus up to 32%, private medical cover, 38 days annual leave, excellent pension, 12x salary life assurance, career breaks, income protection, 3x volunteering days and much more

Within Phoenix Group, we have an incredible opportunity to work on our Standard Life brand as a Senior Client Communications Manager within 56 Degrees, the workplace marketing team that partners with our largest workplace clients to develop creative, engaging and impactful communications strategies to meet client objectives and to showcase these in a standout way at pitch.

The role 

This role is critical to our success in engaging our DC members with their pensions, and in both growing and retaining our client base. You’ll be a key member of pitch teams – bringing to life what makes us different, how being a member with us feels and how we’re differentiated in the market. You’ll drive the member engagement narrative, including how we creatively bring this to life in a pitch environment, bringing fresh ideas and new energy to our team.

You’ll collaborate with our largest strategic DC clients to develop plans and campaigns to creatively engage employees, to maximise employee engagement across workplace pensions and wider financial wellness propositions. As part of this, presenting campaign plans to both clients and internal stakeholders is key, making sure that your plans and messaging are always rooted in a deep understanding of the market, our clients and their members. You’ll build your activity around insight and be able to measure success so that you can always build in continuous improvement.

Building strong relationships is an important part of the role – whether that’s with prospective clients, existing clients or internal stakeholders. Getting out and about and bringing our story to life is essential.

What are we looking for?

Essential

  • Client relationship/management experience 
  • Excellent pitching and presenting experience to clients, including senior decision makers and financial advisers/EBCs with a strong track record of winning
  • Extensive communications experience within the pensions industry - specifically workplace pensions. Own Trust and Master Trust experience is essential
  • Experience in customer communications in financial services
  • Willingness to travel within the UK for pitches and client meetings
  • Experience of working with distribution teams and partners to develop and deliver communications activity that meets business and client objectives
  • A strong leader who will inspire others to be at their absolute best, mentoring and nurturing junior members of the team 

Desirable

  • Strong stakeholder and project management skills
  • Excellent marketing & copywriting skills with strong attention to detail 
  • Strong day-to-day performance tracking and management of budgets 
  • Financial wellbeing experience
