Specialist Urology at NMC Healthcare

Job Descrption

•   Provide urology consultation to physicians or other health care professionals.
•   Evaluate the condition of patients and order appropriate diagnostic tests and exams.
•   Work in consultation with nephrologists to treat kidney patients.
•   Examine patients using equipment, such as radiograph (x-ray) machines and fluoroscopes and ultrasound, to determine the nature and extent of disorder or injury.
•   Order and interpret the results of diagnostic tests, such as prostate specific antigen (PSA) screening, to detect prostate cancer.
•   Prescribe or administer antibiotics, antiseptics, or compresses to treat infection or injury.
•   Prescribe medications to treat patients with different urologic conditions.
•   Treat diseases and disorders of the urinary tract and reproductive organs.
•   Diagnose and treat patients with different urologic conditions including but not limited to:

•   Urologic oncology
•   Urinary stones
•   Functional disorder of lower urinary tract
•   Urinary tract infections
•   Pediatric urology
•   Prostate disease
•   Male infertility and sexual dysfunction

•   Admit patients to the ward for medical management.
•   Admit patients to the operating theatre.
•   Perform different kinds of urologic operations and interventions including but not limited to:

•   Traditional urologic surgeries
•   Endoscopy
•   Laparoscopy
•   Different types of lasers
•   Trans rectal ultrasound guided by biopsy
•   Urodynamic studies and extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.

•   Rectify through surgery the congenital abnormalities and male reproductive system.
•   Access latest technologies and implement most advanced procedures in treating patients.
•   Give emotional support and comfort to patients and their families during treatment interventions.
•   Deliver patient care through pre-operative and post-operative stages until discharged.
•   Document and maintain records pertaining to patients.

•   A completion of MBBS or MBChB or equivalent qualification from an accredited institution
•   Completion of Specialty qualification as per the Recognized Specialty Certificate table

•   The physician will maintain at all times an active license in home country and an active DOH License.
•   5 years’ clinical experience.
