DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Demonstrate competencies in performing procedure such as wound care, catheter and wound drain care, nebulization, and tube feeding.
2. Utilizes the nursing process to provide quality patient care according to established standards of care which includes planning, implementing, evaluating and adjusting plan of care, and discharge planning based on expected patient outcomes.
3. Perform routine nursing care to assigned patients, while utilizing age specific standards and universal precaution practices.
4. Assists the doctor in the clinical rounds including specific procedure done at bedside.
5. Provides a comprehensive pre-operative and post-operative nursing care to all surgical patients according to the care plan.
6. Perform a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort, including those patient’s requiring strict aseptic technique.
7. Responsible for monitoring the patient’s health condition changes through Adult Early Warning Signs Monitoring Chart.
8. Responsible for patient’s care which includes monitoring of intravenous infusions, vital signs, pain management, complete documentation, providing emotional support, patient education, diagnostic and radiologic procedures.
9. Responsible for ensuring the compliance of admission and discharge protocols.
10. Demonstrates deep knowledge in the nursing care of patients with varied illnesses.
11. Prepares the patient for surgery and for other procedures according to the hospital protocol.
12. Accurately monitor the patient in postoperative condition and report any for changes in patient’s status to the treating doctor.
13. Demonstrate skills in recognizing medical and surgical emergencies and respond appropriately.
14. Competence in Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation Advanced Life Support and participates as a member of Code Blue team hospital wide.
15. Plans, implements and evaluates care given to assigned patient in an effective and organized manner.
16. Predominant role in medication preparation, administration, documentation and monitoring of patients for any adverse reactions.
17. Demonstrate competencies in intravenous cannulation and intravenous fluid administration, blood transfusion and blood collection.
18. Performs competency in high alert medications, storage and administration as per the policy.
19. Responsible for maintaining crash cart and critical equipment’s as per the hospital protocol.
20. Meets or exceeds all continuing education requirements for maintaining licensure to practice nursing in accordance with regulatory standards. 
21. Responsible for the supervision of practical nurses and collaborate with multidisciplinary team as required.
22. Perform the task assigned by the head nurse / shift in charge and reports adverse events to head nurse / nursing supervisor.
23. Demonstrate competency in prioritizing in health education and maintaining patient’s record.
24. Follows the reporting mechanisms / chain of command in the nursing services department. All patient care issues shall be correctly and promptly reported.
25. Provides for the physical, psychological and social needs of patient and their families.
26. Performs a wide range of nursing procedures with attention to accuracy, patient safety and comfort, including those requiring strict aseptic technique
27. Responsible for appropriate storage and maintaining inventory of medication including high alert medicate and Narcotic as per the hospital policy.
28. Complies with established Departmental policies and procedures.
29. Maintains confidentiality of patient’s record and ensure that patients’ rights and responsibilities are communicated appropriately and maintains patient’s safety and privacy.
30. Takes responsibility for professional clinical practice and actively involved in continuing education provided by the Nursing Education Department.
31. Act as a patient advocate and provide health education and support to patient and families

QUALIFICATION, LICENSURE, EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, SPECIAL SKILLS:

1. Bachelor of Science in Nursing/Diploma in Nursing.
2. Current license in country of origin and with HAAD Licensed to practice in Al Ain, UAE
3. Minimum 2 years nursing experience in the relevant area.
4. BLS provider.
5. Good English spoken & written, Arabic language is essential
