DHGS_Finance.Manager - Taxation at Jumeirah Group

Job Descrption

The role holder is responsible for overseeing and managing the tax-related activities of the organization, including developing and implementing tax policies and procedures, managing the monthly tax accounting and provisioning, and  ensuring compliance with tax laws and regulations. 

  • Develop and update the tax policies and procedures, and ensure they are consistent with the Group and local requirements.
  • Lead the monthly / annual tax accounting and provisioning for the Group.
  • Review tax position in financial statements quarterly and annually and ensure compliance with accounting standards and tax laws.
  •  Prepare and manage the Group’s compliance with Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), Country by Country Reporting (CbCR), and Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act/Common Reporting Standard (FATCA/CRS). This includes ensuring timely and accurate reporting, managing related audits, and providing advice on compliance requirements.
  • Providing and analysing data with respect to transfer pricing obligations, and support with identifying intercompany transactions.
  • Ensure tax returns are properly reviewed and manage the filing of the tax returns.
  • Manage and coordinate with external tax consultants and advisors, for the tax compliance process ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Identify tax planning opportunities and provide strategic tax advice to the management team.
  • Identify and mitigate tax risks and ensure the organization is prepared for tax audits.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on the organization’s tax position to senior management.
  • Monitor and analyse tax legislation and regulatory changes and assessing their impact on the company's tax obligations and opportunities.
  • Research and analyse the tax implications of any advisory and day-to-day matters.
  • Benchmark and evaluate the tax performance and position of Dubai Holding and its subsidiaries and identify areas for improvement and best practices in compliance with federal tax authority legislation.
  • Support the tax aspects of internal and external audits, providing timely and accurate information and documentation.
  • Stay updated on the latest regulatory changes, and developments and identify improvement opportunities relevant for the tax function. 
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective implementation of process improvements.

Work Experience:

5 – 7 years of relevant experience of tax advisory, either within an advisory function or in a large multinational company.

Education/ Professional Certification:

  • Bachelor’s / master’s degree in business / finance / Tax 

A professional (tax or accounting) qualification. 

Technical Competencies:

  • UAE Tax Legislation / GCC VAT Legislation 
  • European and/or Asia VAT/GST/Tax Legislation
  • Working knowledge of Economic Substance Regulations (ESR), Country-by-Country-Reporting (CbCR), Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act (FATCA)
  • Understanding of regional/global tax developments
  • Experience in accounting concepts and tax regulations, laws and standards.
  • Excellent analytical skills that allow for interpretation of financial and related management information
  • Excellent writing skills sufficient to draft professional reports and correspondence that is clear and concise.
  • Excellent people skills to work cooperatively with persons at all levels in the organization.
  • Attention to detail with a high degree of accuracy.
