Job Descrption
Torden is seeking qualified Arabic linguists for positions on US Naval Station, Guantanamo Bay (GTMO).
Requirements:
- Demonstrated ability to interpret, translate and transcribe between Modern Standard Arabic and English
- Must meet language assessment skills test to an ILR 3 minimum in AD - MSA and 2+ in English
- Must have typing and computer skills
- Must be able to think quickly and work in a professional atmosphere as part of a team
- Ability to understand the essentials of all speech in a standard dialect and have broad vocabulary to rarely require assistance for paraphrasing or explanation.
- Ability to follow accurately the essentials of conversations between educated native speakers
- Ability to understand radio broadcasts, news stories similar to wire service reports, oral reports, some oral technical reports, and public addresses on non-technical subjects.
- Due to location of assignment, must meet medical and dental screening requirements as well as immunizations up to date
Security Requirements:
- Individuals with an active SECRET security clearance
- All candidates must have a valid U.S. Government Counterintelligence (CI) screening and valid CI polygraph (within 5 years)for consideration
- U.S. Citizenship
