MISSION

  • As Director of Supply Chain Strategy & Governance you will direct, oversee and manage the operational activities of the Supply Chain organization, including Supply Chain Governance, Processes and Reporting; Strategy Development, Financial Planning, Risk Management and Supply Chain Tools across all lines of business.
  • You will work with Business Development, Program Management, Supply Chain, Operations, Engineering, Quality, Legal and Finance teams to develop supply chain content of customer proposals and sourcing strategy to capture new business and grow the company.
  • You will ensure adherence to Supply Chain related Governance & compliance, meeting both Airbus expectations and U.S. Government contracting requirements.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Strategy
    • Contribute to the development of the strategy for the Company, in alignment with the broader LOB or product strategies, and drive implementation
    • Lead a team to develop supply chain proposal content for each customer proposal including:
      • Overall Supply Chain costs, schedule, performance and risk (flight, non-flight, indirect, NREC, REC, services, etc) inclusive of assessments and characterizations on proposal/estimation maturity, risks and opportunity
      • Integrate elements of supplier proposals into customer proposals as needed to support proposal writing, content, descriptions, and the like
    • Facilitate supplier RFIs/RFPs/RFQs/ROMs/Proposals in support of customer proposals and in coordination with HO SC Flight Hardware and HO General Procurement
    • Perform strategic sourcing work in coordination with key Supply Chain Project Managers (SCPM), engineering, and quality who have expertise on suppliers and can support
    • Assess/analyse supplier's capabilities/roadmaps and market trends/dynamics for key parts and subsystems on satellites
    • Support Supplier Quality on New Supplier Industrialization Assessments
    • Support Engineering on New Supplier Design/Technical Assessments
  • Lead Tender Evaluation Boards (TEBs) for new proposals and existing programs and closely coordinate with key stakeholders.
  • Participate in appropriate trade shows to search for and assess new suppliers

  • Governance
  • Execution of governance and reporting accountabilities to Leadership and Organization
  • Responsible for defining and implementing Supply Chain policies and strategies to ensure mission success and allow to scale efficiently through team of direct reports
  • Develop policies, standards, processes, and documentation as necessary to ensure continued success and transferability after project completion
  • Ensure compliance with all internal guidelines and external regulations and requirements relating to responsible categories - e.g., finance and procurement policies, code of conduct, etc
  • Drive the delivery of continuous improvement initiatives across the division by setting priorities and regularly communicating relevant information to streamline processes, optimize efficiency and increase effectiveness
  • Work with the Divisional Leadership team to develop KPIs and targets and produce metrics in support of measuring performance; analyze results to identify trends and opportunities for continual improvement

  • Drive and foster a culture of continuous improvement, motivation, collaboration, empowerment and entrepreneurialism within the team
  • Identify opportunities to optimize return on investment, efficiency, reliability, availability, serviceability, and simplicity for end users
  • Drive a team of highly talented individuals that own their respective supply chain function and drive continuous improvement
  • Hire, develop and retain top talent to meet current and future business needs.



REPORTING

  • To Sr Director Supply Chain Operations

PROFILE / EXPERIENCE / SKILLS

  • 12+ years senior operations, supply chain, program management and engineering management experience preferred in a aerospace development and manufacturing environment.
  • Engineering or similar technical degree from a credible college or university
  • Experience managing complex suppliers in high tech development/production environment
  • Proven leadership, communication and listening skills.
  • Strategic mindset and strong negotiation skills.
  • Track record of innovation, creativity, problem solving and program execution success
  • Team player to collaborate with business units and functional partners like Engineering, Operations, Quality, Finance, HR, Legal, etc.
  • Working knowledge of finance and/or accounting in terms of budgeting, cost management, financial accounting, treasury, accounts payable and financial forecasting.
  • Experience in risk and opportunity management.
  • Fluency in both verbal and written English required, Fluency in French is highly desired.

WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL EFFORT

  • Position requires 20-30% domestic and international travel.
  • US Work Authorization (US citizen, Permanent Resident Card/Green Card or employment-related Visa).

The employee frequently is required to talk and hear.   • The employee must occasionally be able to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities require by this job include close vision.
  • Personal Protective Equipment many be required including safety shoes and glasses. Other protective equipment may also be necessary based on the specific task
