You'll be working on…. (what your role and responsibility is)

Supporting the... commercial management of complex and innovative rail and highways projects across the UK. From learning about financial performance to helping manage contracts, you'll develop a deep understanding of how we build safer, smarter journeys. You'll assist with cost control, contract administration, and performance monitoring while gaining insight into our supply chain and building strong stakeholder relationships.

You will be out on our sites, as an integral and integrated member of our delivery teams, seeing civil engineering projects come to life, from inception and design through to completion and end-product. You'll be encouraged and supported in engaging in social value initiatives and sustainability drives within the projects and frameworks you are part of, contributing to leaving a sustainable legacy with Octavius.

You'll work with… (because relationships are important)

A wide range of stakeholders, including experienced commercial personnel, site managers and Subcontractors. You'll liaise with Project Managers and engineers in a seamless, One Team Approach, bringing your role to life through learning from a variety of stakeholders who value your opinion and contribution. You'll also engage with suppliers to support the smooth delivery of our projects and participate in meetings and site visits, allowing you to see first-hand the progress we make. Collaboration is at the heart of everything we do, and you'll be part of a team where your voice is heard, and your contributions valued.

You'll be part of a burgeoning commercial team engaged on our Quantity Surveying Development Programme; a like-minded group of commercial professionals in your peer group, all of whom are on the same journey. This support network and friendship group will be an invaluable contributor to you feeling at home within your new career, engaging in team building days and social events in your calendar where a wider community of young aspiring Quantity Surveyors socialise and have fun together

You're an enthusiastic learner with a passion for building a career in quantity surveying. You're methodical, organised, and have a strong analytical mindset that helps you approach challenges with confidence. Your excellent communication skills and ability to work in a team environment will make you an ideal fit for our dynamic projects.

• A strong analytical mindset and a keen eye for detail.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• An organised, methodical approach to managing tasks and priorities.
• A problem-solving attitude, especially when faced with challenging situations.
• A full UK driving licence and a desire to work towards professional qualifications.
• GCSE Level 4 or above
• Degree Level - necessary UCAS points to enrol on a Degree Level Apprenticeship.
