Job Description
Role Purpose
This role will form part of the Metals & Mining Data team and will work closely with our Research, Product and Engineering colleagues. The successful candidate will be help solve challenges around data management, pipelines, analysis and data quality.
The success of this role will require attention to detail, collaboration & problem solving. The core objective is to help manage and migrate workflows from legacy systems & deliver internal efficiencies through data. Ensuring we have a supportive and inclusive culture within our team is essential.
Main Responsibilities
- Gain a deep understanding of our customer data and existing landscape and business processes and be the go-to person for questions about data/product/business processes
- Collect, extract, and compile data from various sources, ensuring its accuracy and completeness
- Identify and address data quality issues, such as missing or inconsistent data, by partnering with data engineers and implementing data cleansing techniques in analysis
- Determining, creating, and implementing internal process improvements, such as redesigning infrastructure for increased scalability, improving data delivery, and automating manual procedures
- Building necessary infrastructure using AWS and SQL technologies, and using Python/Java scripting for data flows creation. This will enable effective data extraction, transformation, and loading from a variety of data sources
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders to understand their analytical needs and provide timely and relevant reports

Qualifications
About You
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience working as Data Analyst with data engineering experience as well
- Ability to reverse engineer the existing codes/scripts
- Possess a creative, systematic, and logical approach to problem-solving
- Preferable experience working in both cloud-based and on-premise platforms
- Ability to gather business requirements and translate to technical specifications
- Experience in automating data ingestion, data cleansing, data warehouse, data lake and data management concepts
- Deep knowledge of data modelling best practices and experience in APIs or web scraping
- Must have excellent writing skills, including the ability to write user guides and technical/functional documentation for complex processes that is concise, yet thorough
- Experience producing project artefacts, including meeting notes, mock-ups, process maps, and data flow diagrams to convey functionality to stakeholders and development teams
- Experience using tools (such as Jira, Confluence, or TFS) to document and trace requirements
- Proficient in MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint, and MS Visio
- Good problem solving, attention to detail and analysis skills
- Keen Interest in Commodity Market Dynamics, highly adaptive team player, growth mindset, change agility
