Job Description

The Role 

We’re looking for a Solution Lead to join our fast-growing Salesforce Marketing Cloud Practice in the UK. Merkle is a Salesforce Agency Partner and has a strong complete Salesforce ecosystem knowledge, data management capabilities and experience activation expertise and the Data & Martech area of the Salesforce ecosystem is a key growth area of our Practice.

Our Salesforce Marketing Cloud practice offers solutions to accelerate business growth from investment in Salesforce products such as Marketing Cloud, Data Cloud, Personalisation and Tableau/ Datorama. To support our clients with better outcomes, we provide a full range of services across strategy, technology implementation, data solutions, business change management, user experience design and development, marketing activation and advanced analytics services. Our key differentiator is to help clients achieve rapid time-to-value from technology.  

This role offers an opportunity to step into a fast-growing practice area and become part of this growth. You will lead engagements across a portfolio of strategic clients in a Solution Lead role.  

This is a complex role, where you will deliver the following elements in parallel and these on daily basis: 

  

  • Technology Advisory – Working with our clients in an advisory capacity to help them accelerate value from technology; specifically delivering: 
  • Platform audits, Technology Platform and Vision Value Roadmaps 
  • Definition of Journeys and use cases 
  • Solution Design for SFMC, Data Cloud, SFMC Personalisation  
  • Consultancy Projects - Leading Discovery & Definition projects, covering detailed solution definition for new clients. This includes the definition of capabilities to drive better customer experiences on the Salesforce stack, the definition of a capability operating model, strategic business requirements and the roadmap to deliver this. 
  • Service Leadership. Leading strategic client engagements by filling in a Solution Lead role in the Service Delivery leadership of key accounts and / or acting as in an extended team role for key clients, such as SFMC Solution Architect or SFMC Product Owner. This part of the role covers responsibilities across Solution Architecture, leading workstreams, leading teams with multiple Merkle / dentsu capabilities and managing the delivery of strategic outcomes for our clients. 
  • Presales Support – Working closely with our growth and client service teams to help accelerate the sales process through delivering Solution Architecture and Solution Designs, support pitches and RFPs as Salesforce Marketing Cloud SME, creating proposals and presentations, costing solutions and writing Statements of Work. 

Qualifications

What we are looking for in you 

We are looking for someone from a consultancy / agency / marketing technology vendor background with experience in Marketing Automation, CDPs and data-driven customer experience programs. Solution Engineering, Consultancy and / or broader data & martech experience is a big plus. 

 

You will need to be: 

  • Resilient, decisive, and willing to learn on the go 
  • Outcome focused and a strong negotiator 
  • An excellent communicator and presenter 
  • Capable of mapping out complex solutions  

We need you to evidence the following skills: 

  • Strong experience in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, which you can demonstrate through practical experience and / or Salesforce certifications 
  • You have had exposure to SFMC personalisation, Einstein / AI and / or Data Cloud or have started your journey on these platforms recently. 
  • Strong analytical skills and able to process complex information and present this in easy to understand formats  
  • Commercial experience – strong consultancy and stakeholder management skills 
  • Experience working across the business and technical domains is a big plus 
  • Solution Engineering, Technical Architecture, Solution Definition skills 
  • Advanced level Excel and PowerPoint 
  • Up to date knowledge on Salesforce Marketing Cloud and the latest product releases
