Job Description

The Global Risk Strategy Sr. Manager role is tasked with being a visionary voice that ensures our strategy anticipates and responds to market trends and drives long term differentiation for Visa while enhancing the safety and security of our payments ecosystem. In this role, you will be an integral member of the Global Risk Strategy & Operations team, chartered with developing the strategic analysis that will shape our risk investments and market responses.

  • Provide strategic insight into the overall risk landscape by analyzing data, interpreting research (market, client, competitive), and translating findings into thought leadership that can enhance Risk’s positioning with key stakeholders.
  • Understand the evolving needs and challenges of ecosystem risk and the role technology will play in addressing core capabilities (e.g., AI, quantum computing etc.)
  • Develop a deep understanding of Risk products, capabilities, and roadmaps, and create materials for client and internal presentations to help explain how these components drive trust in the Visa ecosystem
  • Drive collaboration with the Corporate Communications function to plan and execute our Risk communications strategy.
  • Partner with the regions to enable two-way communication that enriches Risk’s value proposition to ecosystem participants worldwide.
  • Understand current and emerging threats that affect the payments ecosystem and help shape Visa's strategic approach to stop them.
  • Distill strategic and analytical insights into concise and 'executive-ready' presentations
  • Partner with Risk leaders to plan and execute high-priority special projects and initiatives.

This is a hybrid position. Hybrid employees can alternate time between both remote and office. Employees in hybrid roles are expected to work from the office 2-3 set days a week (determined by leadership/site), with a general guidepost of being in the office 50% or more of the time based on business needs.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD
  • 8+ years of experience in management consulting, corporate strategy, or an analytical/operational role for global corporations
  • Knowledge of the payments industry and experience in risk function is a plus
  • Experience with strategic analysis
  • Executive level presentation and communication experience; Good executive presence
  • Successful track record of impeccable organizational abilities, validated business insight and client experience
  • Effective communicator, able to convey complex ideas in a clear, concise manner both verbally and in writing
  • Developed consulting skills enabling the individual to work with others to elicit information, to think objectively and analytically and to influence outcomes positively
  • Fact-based problem solver with the ability to evaluate alternative courses of action and make sound management decisions

Additional Information

Work Hours: Varies upon the needs of the department.

Travel Requirements: This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.

Mental/Physical Requirements: This position will be performed in an office setting.  The position will require the incumbent to sit and stand at a desk, communicate in person and by telephone, frequently operate standard office equipment, such as telephones and computers.

U.S. APPLICANTS ONLY: The estimated salary range for a new hire into this position is 147,700.00 to 214,150.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity. Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401 (k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.
