Job Description

The position is responsible for developing, executing, and leading Visa’s Digital and Fintech partnerships strategy across the region. This includes identifying, structuring, negotiating, closing, and managing partnerships and alliances, with Big Tech brands, regional technology partners and emerging FinTech’s across the region.

 

Strategic Partnerships works closely with Visa’s Product organization to develop solutions and oversee cross functional engagements to deliver these solutions with our clients. The SVP, Strategic Partnerships and FinTech role requires an experienced sales - business development professional and sector expert who can identify potential deals, engage C-level executives, oversee solution development, and manage the teams, process and programs needed to bring them to fruition.

 

This Leader will directly lead a pan region team of 29 and will indirectly lead the Fintech activities and cluster Fintech leads across all 6 clusters.

 

In Europe this role also leads the Third-Party Issuer Processors (or TPPs) – developing and managing partnerships (both strategic and commercial) agreements with TPPs across Europe to grow Visa revenue and propagate Visa innovation to banks, savings organizations, and fintech issuers.

 

The role will report to our Global Head of Innovation and Digital Partnerships and European Leadership team (ELT). 

Qualifications

- 20plus years experience in relevant industry expertise in the sector (corporate strategy, financial services, fintech or payments industry), within related business development or strategy consulting roles
- Strategic, analytical thinker who consistently challenges the status quo and constructively challenges the team to aim for higher ground- change agent
- Strategic and process-oriented leader, with a high attention to detail and quality on both internal teamwork and external products brought to market
- Hands-on, entrepreneurial, and nimble, while also able to navigate a globally matrixed environment
- Track record of planning, managing and closing a complex, competitive sales effort and managing deals from negotiation, to closing and through delivery- deal finance process experience
- Proven record of implementing strategic initiatives, policies and operational decisions
- Proven ability to partner, manage - navigate through multiple disciplines and organizational groups
- Able to work within a complex and often ambiguous environments, and to influence senior management and other relevant parties
- Outstanding executive communications skills as a spokesperson for Partnerships within Visa and across the industry
- Team oriented, collaborative, diplomatic and flexible. Able to drive performance and inspire a high performing team.
