Job Description

As an Assistant Buyer you will support the Buying team to ensure we maximise the departments sales and profitability. In the role you maintain organisation within the department,  including sample handling. You contribute to the best purchase by securing customer and brand requirements on orders with regards to time, price, quality and quantity. 

What you will do:

• Continuously evaluate and research our customer, figure out the buying habits and its effects on trends, deliver information to the design team to drive product development
• Drive daily organisation and running of the department for your team​​
• Support to maximize the departments/concepts sales and profitability by maintaining timelines both before and after order replacement and following weekly trade updates for future opportunities. 
• Collaborate within the departments buying, design, pattern and production team, work towards an efficient information and workflow process and contribute towards long- and short-term goals​
• Collaborate in the planning and buying of the concept, examine product and assortment
• Conduct regular analysis of our competitors and provide insights to team, ensuring we offer our customers great value for money
• Communicate with the production office, follow up order placements and meet deadlines
• Handle samples as well as oversee and maintain the wardrobe, making sure all samples are kept neat, tidy and organized​
• Manage the post flow from and to recipients 
• Raise orders, and order updates​
• Prepare and assist fittings,  organize agenda, provide samples at the right place right time and right quantity​
• Maintain responsibility for ensuring call-off, supplier and trailing quantity moves happen as required​
• Be part of reviewing and analysing the departments product, assortment and selling, consider actions according to the business needs and present sales figures​

Qualifications

• Previous experience as an Assistant Buyer - Womenswear soft accessories beneficial 
• Product development knowledge  working with design team essential
• Proficient use of Microsoft package
• Strong team player with great communication skills.
• Flexible and adaptable
• Excellent organisational skills, ability to multitask and meet strict deadlines.
• Commercial mindset to recognise opportunities and support trade decisions 
• Good understanding of external trends and competitor activity
