Job Description

As a Health and Safety Engineer, you hold all legal requirements to perform this role according to the local Labor and Fire Safety and Civil Protection legislation (hereafter after Health and Safety). You will ensure the safety and well-being of our employees and clients. We are committed to maintaining the highest standards of health and safety in our workplace. Core Responsibilities includes but is not limited to:

• Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and programs to ensure compliance with local and state legislation and regulations for all our stores and offices in the country.
• Conduct regular safety inspections and risk assessments to identify and implement corrective actions. Lead a proper audit program according to Company routines.
• Provide expert advice and support to employees and management on health and safety matters.
• Organize and deliver official and Company-driven training programs to educate employees on safety policies and procedures.
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near misses, and develop strategies to prevent recurrence.
• Keep abreast of new developments and legislation in the field of health and safety and ensure the company's compliance.
• Collaborate with different departments to promote a safety culture and drive continuous improvement in health and safety performance.
• Establish positive and productive working relations, maintain communication with state and municipal authorities, and represent the Company in inspections and any other relevant Health and Safety authorities.
• Ensure proper and up-to-date documentation is kept in all locations and times and maintain proper Company documentation and reports are up to date according to local legislation.
• Supports the Security Manager with additional tasks connected with the Security Department scope.

Qualifications

We believe you are a sales-minded, social, open, communicative, and ambitious team player full of drive and optimism. We foresee that your personal qualities also include:

• Live by the H&M Values and understand the Business drivers and company culture.
• Self-driven, taking initiative and being able to make decisions.
• Fluent knowledge of  English & Ukrainian spoken and written.
• Bachelor’s degree or upper in Occupational Health and Safety, or related technical field.
• A Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent certification is preferred.
• Certification in fire, labor, and electrical safety lvl4 is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in health and safety roles, preferably in retail.
• Strong knowledge of local and state regulations related to health and safety.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage others.
• Proven ability to develop and deliver effective training programs.
• Detail-oriented with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and collaborative approach to work.
