Job Description

This role is a unique opportunity to join a truly global Finance team and to work on a wide range of finance processes to fully enhance your training and kick start your career.

As our new Trainee Accountant, you will join our Finance team in Manchester from where you will closely work with our 16 global offices in 12 countries.

As part of the Finance function, you will lead the reporting for a selection of international offices, working closely with local representatives to ensure the fit within our global financial framework.

You will also be involved in a wider range of financial activities, gaining exposure to tasks such as the company wide budgeting and forecasting process or assisting with month-end and year-end reports.

In addition, we will offer our full support to enable you to gain an ACCA or CIMA accounting qualification, where the company will pay for your attendance at a college of your choice.

In the UK, and for some international subsidiary companies, your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Handling high transaction sections of the purchase ledger support, in the UK and overseas.
• Entering detailed project expenses through the purchase ledger and reconciling supplier accounts.
• Handling a section of the balance sheet, including journals and monthly reconciliations.
• Reviewing and challenging individual office operating costs.
• Providing analysis of spend variances to the office managers.
• Assisting with the reporting requirements for the financial month end.
• Assisting with statutory fillings globally including financial statements and tax returns.
• Assisting with monthly revenue recognition calculations and reporting requirements.
• Assisting the budgeting and forecasting process.
• Assisting with group level reporting requirements for the financial month end and year end.
• Assisting with ad hoc Finance department projects.

Qualifications

If you are a school leaver or recent graduate, and you are looking to start your career in accounting and finance, it is the right opportunity for you. 

You will need to be ready to work towards qualifying as an accountant, and to be motivated to get involved in the Finance function of a growing international business.

This is a rounded role where you will touch on a variety of responsibilities, so you need to be flexible and adaptable.

You don’t need relevant experience, but you need to have worked in a professional environment before, and you need to be comfortable with Microsoft Excel.
