What you can expect from us

Everyone at CityFibre has an important part to play, and we reflect that in our benefits. With a competitive salary depending on experience, when you join us, you’ll also enjoy 25 days’ holiday, a day off on your birthday, a day off to support a charity or organisation of your choice, a performance-related bonus scheme, and private healthcare.

We believe we deliver our best when we work together. It’s the way we do things, trusting and giving our people the autonomy to manage their own day-to-day, promoting wellbeing, whilst still prioritising time together with our colleagues to connect, collaborate and share our ideas.

How you’ll change it up

As our Customer Field Engineer, you’ll be part of an on-call rota providing industry-leading emergency response for network/customer issues and faults. You’ll be a crucial member of our team, assisting with customer-focused installations and maintenance of full-fibre connections to residential and business properties. Some of your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with ‘on the day’ issues that would otherwise prevent successful completion of tasks impacting right first time
  • Resolving service incidents/escalations to a successful outcome in a professional and timely manner
  • Completing minor civil activities (private and public) repairs on our network and PIA network
  • Including reinstatement to industry standards (NRSWA certification 1 to 9 – training and certification will be provided)
  • Embracing continuous improvement supporting the organisation with installation problem solving

What will you bring to the role?

We are looking for a motivated candidate with extensive experience and knowledge of fibre, including network build, FTTx installation, fibre blowing and fibre splicing. You’ll be confident in ensuring that site operations are carried out to a high standard, to the relevant specification and within QHSE and NRSWA guidelines and regulations. You’ll also need:

  • NRSWA Certification minimal level Unit 2 & 10
  • NRSWA Certification minimal level Unit 2
  • SA001 and SA002 Smart Awards
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage with members of the public and other interested stakeholders

We’re looking for people who don’t settle for ‘good enough’ and push things forward. If you’ve just found yourself thinking, ‘I’d love to do this’, we want to hear from you. Let’s change it up.

Diversity, Inclusion and Belonging

Our people have a wide range of experiences and perspectives – and it’s this diversity of thought that makes us who we are.
