Job Description

As a Senior Software Engineer at Checkout.com in Financial Experiences, you will be providing expert technical contribution in the design and implementation of our cloud-based finance platform. Collaborating closely with cross-functional product teams, you will lead technical decisions throughout the project lifecycle. Working seamlessly with product teams, your insights will align technical solutions with business needs. Beyond individual contributions, your role includes mentoring team members to foster a culture of innovation and continuous learning. 

Responsibilities:

• Working as part of a cross-functional product team to develop solutions
• Taking ownership for and leading on technical and architectural decisions
• Gathering requirements and scoping out projects with the rest of the team
• Mentoring and developing other members of the team
• Actively promoting innovative thinking, designing processes that encourage more ideation
• Driving continuous improvement in the team

Qualifications

• We use C# in this team, although we are also open to Java engineers interested in cross-training to C#
• Expert level experience in designing and managing large, scalable, highly available and fault-tolerant systems
• Expert level experience in Cloud-based application development (we use AWS)
• Excellent practical knowledge of OOP concepts and SOLID principles
• Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL
• Experience with financial technology or financial services or is a plus
• You have a passion for designing and delivering cloud-based distributed systems to solve critical business needs. 
• You enjoy learning new skills and using the best tools for the job.
• You are able to identify and proactively take steps to raise the engineering standards of the engineering team. You influence this through knowledge sharing and mentoring.
• You are enthusiastic about delivery and working in a fast-paced agile environment.
• You have excellent communication skills and an ability to interact effectively with multidisciplinary teams.

Additional Information

Hybrid Working Model: All of our offices globally are onsite 3 times per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). We’ve worked towards enabling teams to work collaboratively in the same space, while also being able to partner with colleagues globally.
