Job Description

We're seeking a Senior Product Manager with a proven track record of working directly with clients in a B2B environment and driving great customer experiences, innovation and discovery.

This is an exciting opportunity to join Trainline’s B2B division and drive change in the way millions of people book their travel each day on the UK's leading rail platform. You'll be responsible for improving both the web and app experience for the commuters and leisure customers of our rail partners. These are strategic initiatives to drive ambitious business growth outcomes with a very visible customer impact. You will have ownership of this area of the product and the ability to shape the roadmap and vision.

You will be responsible for working with our UK/European rail partners, integrating data insights and market analysis to make data driven decisions and create experiences which customers love.

You will also be part of a cross-functional team who are responsible for delivering initiatives to increase customer growth and retention.

Responsibilities

  • Understand the needs of our customers and the business to develop the vision, strategy and roadmap for our rail partner product suite.
  • Set OKRs with ambitious business goals with measurable results, aligned with the wider company business objectives.
  • Work with data science and researchers to develop actionable qualitative and quantitative insights.
  • Form well-reasoned hypotheses and use discovery techniques to rapidly enhance your understanding of the problem space and shape the user experience.
  • Get all members of your cross functional team passionate about the product vision and strategy as well as communicate effectively with company leadership.
  • Use experiments to measure the impact of launched initiatives and feed insights back into the product development process.
  • Act as customer champion, understanding their needs to deliver a seamless experience that they'll come back to again and again.
  • Work with commercial and bid teams to supercharge product launches.

Qualifications

  • Must have experience in web, mobile app and ecommerce channels, as well as building amazing products that customers love.
  • Strong ability to measure and communicate outcomes is a must.
  • Track record leading and delivering high business growth.
  • Demonstratable success as a senior product manager.
  • Worked in a fast-paced environment where you’ve had to think on your feet and bring people together to problem solve.
  • Evidence of customer centric thinking through insights, data, and experimentation.
  • Experience of working with Agile frameworks, writing user stories, setting sprint goals and collaborating with teams on acceptance criteria.
  • Analytical thinking and decision making, able to weigh up conflicting priorities and make the right decision using a balance of qual and quant data inputs.
  • Experience in the travel/rail industry or a marketplace would be beneficial.

Additional Information

Why should you jump on board?

We want our people to stretch their minds, abilities, and share their knowledge. Each year we hold The Trainline Tech Summit, which provides Trainliners with an opportunity to stand up and share their story, learnings, or new skills with their colleagues in a safe environment.

We've always paid special attention to flexible working as we value a strong work/life balance. The pandemic has taught us that a balance between remote working and being in a collaborative office environment leads to productive teams.
