Job Description

Due to the nature of the client engagements, every employee needs to be able to achieve Security Clearance.

This means that you need to have the right to take up employment within the UK, do not have or require any visa to work, and have been resident in the UK for at least 5 years without any gap(s) totalling more than 6 months. Higher clearance/s may be required.

As an employer we believe in facilitating a flexible work pattern whilst taking into consideration operational requirements,  client and individual needs. We are proud of our hybrid work pattern that typically sees employees in the office for a minimum of 2 days per week. 

You should be able to easily commute to our London office.  For some roles/projects, travel to the clients offices will be required and the frequency is often determined by the client.

Key responsibilities of the role are summarised below:

We are looking for a high-performing new business salesperson and will tailor the role to the individual . The successful candidate will contribute to our ongoing growth and to meeting our customer acquisition and revenue growth objectives.

You will be key in developing new business sales strategies, tactics and action plans. Successful execution of these strategies is required to achieve our financial targets.

The new business salesperson will lead on breaking into new clients, with the following key accountabilities and responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute strategic account plans to achieve sales targets and expand our customer base, working collaboratively with other members of the Central Government Client Group, consulting and delivery practices and relevant functions
  • Accountable for meeting a new business sales target by identifying and developing winning opportunities in target clients
  • Shaping opportunities to align with company capabilities and lead the development of, winning proposals that address client pain points and deliver value for money; ensuring priced proposals follow the appropriate review and approvals process and that we comply with all client confidentiality and ethical wall requirements
  • Negotiate the closure of orders with support from the commercial and delivery team
  • Developing long-lasting client relationships and managing client stakeholders through regular touchpoints to track changes in the client landscape and ensure that high levels of client satisfaction are achieved, working alongside the delivery and consulting teams to expand beyond the first win 
  • Collaborate with colleagues across 6point6 to develop attractive go-to-market propositions that take account of market trends and to contribute to the company knowledge pool in terms of sales best practice
  • Engender our company values, contributing to the development of our organisation as a great place to work
  • Collaborate with peers and staff within a matrix organisation particularly the Client Group, Consulting Directors and Delivery Leads
  • Contribute to the review and development of company strategy, business and account plans

Qualifications

The successful candidate will have:

  • Successful  sales experience in the UK public sector
  • Understanding of the UK public sector procurement frameworks and processes
  • Experience of owning an account, developing/ maintaining stakeholder relationships in the UK public sector to deliver innovative and winning client solutions 
  • Understanding of specific UK public sector accounts, including their challenges, drivers, motivations and wider landscape

  • Exceptional and demonstrable written and verbal communication skills in long form text and in presentation format

  • Giving impactful presentations, articulating clearly key points

Demonstrate critical thinking by:

  • Analysing and evaluating information
  • Solving problems and multi-tasking; looking at the options available and making appropriate recommendations and decisions to achieve the best outcome.

Work in partnership with others to:

  • Effectively manage both internal and external stakeholders to ensure synergy
  • Collaborate meaningfully with all parties to ensure outcomes are reached effectively
  • build relationships with colleagues and to manage the bid team. Demonstrating the ability to work as true partners to the client facing and consulting teams

You will have very good attention to detail, coupled to the ability to develop and embed process and efficiency.

Previous experience within security-controlled environments is desirable.
