Job Description

SQLI UK is seeking a talented and passionate Product (UX & UI) Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in shaping digital products from research and discovery through to execution. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on diverse projects, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams to deliver exceptional user experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

Research and Discovery:

• Conduct user research to understand user needs, behaviours, and pain points.
• Utilise various research methodologies, including surveys, interviews, and usability testing, to gather actionable insights.
• Analyse data and user feedback to inform design decisions and product strategy.

UX Design:

• Develop user personas, user journeys, friction maps, and wireframes to visualise and communicate design concepts.
• Create prototypes to test and iterate on product designs effectively.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment between business goals and user needs.

UI Design:

• Design visually appealing and intuitive user interfaces that enhance usability and accessibility.
• Create high-fidelity mockups and design assets using industry-standard tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, or Figma.
• Maintain design consistency and adhere to brand guidelines across all digital platforms.

Collaboration and Communication:

• Work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, developers, and marketers, to deliver cohesive solutions.
• Communicate design concepts and rationale effectively, both verbally and visually, to stakeholders at all levels.
• Participate in design reviews and provide constructive feedback to peers.

Continuous Learning and Improvement:

• Stay up-to-date with the latest trends, best practices, and emerging technologies in UX/UI design.
• Share knowledge and insights with the team to foster a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
• Seek feedback from peers and actively participate in professional development opportunities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction (HCI), or a related field.
• Proven experience (3+ years) in UX/UI design for digital products, with a strong portfolio showcasing relevant work.
• Proficiency in design tools such as Sketch, Adobe XD, Figma, or equivalent.
• Solid understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies.
• Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience working in an agency or consultancy environment.
• Knowledge of front-end development technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and their impact on design.
• Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Experience conducting accessibility audits and implementing accessible design practices.
