Business Development Manager, Energy Procurement at eEnergy Group PLC

Company Description

eEnergy empower organisations to achieve net zero by tackling energy waste and transitioning to clean energy, without the need for upfront investment. We are looking for a business development manager who can identify partners that want to help their own clients and/or supply chain meet their sustainability objectives, by introducing eEnergy. The outcome is reduced costs and carbon for the client, a new client for eEnergy and an additional revenue stream for the partner. You will be responsible for managing existing partners, sourcing new partnerships and closing the sale directly with the client. You will be pitching and demonstrating our MY ZeERO sub metering solution in person or remotely.

MY ZeERO securely streams real-time electricity consumption, metering, and sensor data to our cloud platform, offering invaluable insight into business’s energy usage patterns. MY ZeERO’s cutting-edge technology enables customers to pinpoint unnecessary energy consumption, cut costs and reduce carbon emissions. Additionally, you will be able to leverage our wider group services via our brands eSolar, eCharge and eLight.

Job Description

  • Research organisations and identify new business opportunities to grow eEnergy’s customer base.
  • Create strategies to successfully reach new business opportunities.  
  • Build future sales by managing a pipeline of prospects through customer relationship building and market awareness.
  • Build a lead list and cold call to arrange meetings at customers’ premises, or via Teams.
  • Build relationships with customers and prospects, gauging their needs and developing proposals to address these.
  • Pitch eEnergy solutions and build positive relationships with key stakeholders and decision makers in order to close deals.
  • Identify new opportunities for sales campaigns and work with the Marketing team to execute.
  • Attend events and conferences to build relationships and gain new leads.
  • Accurately forecast sales achievement and actively work towards achieving it, including logging all sales related activity in the CRM, Salesforce.
  • Make presentations to customers and senior management.

You will have an appropriate quarterly and annual sales target as provided by the Sales Director.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Demonstrable years of experience selling energy procurement services.
  • Be commercially aware and be able to deliver profitable proposals that meet internal guidelines.
  • Be able to demonstrate a proven track record of delivering new business growth in an energy procurement environment.
  • Knowledge of the energy supply and procurement market in the UK.
  • Experience pitching to C-Suite / Senior individuals in a B2B business development / customer success.
  • Incredible organisation skills – this is a demanding role with high expectations and you need to be on top of your game.
  • Strong sales and presentation skills, with an understanding of how to craft a compelling story to prospective customers.  
  • Strong communication skills and honed negotiation skills
  • Confidence to make cold calls to businesses
  • Result and Target driven – a very strong desire to meet targets
  • Appetite for growth and desire to take on more responsibilities
  • A team player, responsible and comfortable with accountability

Highly Desirable

    Previous experience in the utility or energy efficiency market.
