As we progress on this journey, finance plays a critical partnership role to ensure we deliver our transformation results both operationally and financially. You will the lead the accounting finance team ensuring that the finance nuts and bolts are in place ensuring that as the organisation grows, the finance team can grow to support it.
Reporting into the WPP IT Controller, the role holder will manage the maitanance of our financial records ensuring we’re operating in a SOX compliant manner and partnering with the finance partners acting as an advisor to our needs.
What you'll be doing:
- Lead the accounting team with oversight of the day-to-day finance operations of the business.
- Coordinate and lead the month end process with a focus on continuous improvements.
- Ensure the numbers are reported on time into the group consolidation system.
- Lead and own the relationship with our shared service partners, assessing activities that could be migrated across.
- Line management responsibility for the accounting team, incorporating training, development and performance review process.
- Document and drive effective internal controls working closely with the internal control team.
- Establish and maintain financial procedures for us ensuring that these are communicated and known across the business.
- Own the balance sheets across all our markets ensure reconciliations are in place, driving standardisation across all processes.
- Overseeing the audit process and partner with external personnel where required.
What you'll need:
- Qualified accountant (i.e. ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent).
- Degree or equivalent (i.e. MBA).
- Significant post-qualified experience or external experience in Big 4 / Industry.
- Experience of working in a matrix/global organisation desirable.
- Proven experience in financial management.
- Ability to manage high levels of pressure, prioritise work, monitor and track the status of project related tasks.
