As a Finance & Accounting Specialist, you will be joining the international finance team to support them with the day-to-day accounting activities of our Dubai office, as well as the key global financial administrative processes around order-to-cash, purchase-to-pay, payroll and financial reporting. You will work closely with colleagues in Dubai, the Netherlands and Sri Lanka.

Job Description

What you'll be doing:

• Be involved in daily administrative processing of purchase invoices, employee expense claims and bank transactions;
• Reconciling bank statements and other financial accounts such as Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable;
• Monthly closing of financial accounts, including compliance and governmental filings like VAT returns;
• Working with HR colleagues to ensure accurate and timely processing of salary payments and ensure local government laws on payroll accounting;
• Preparing and recording accounting transactions in the general ledger, ensuring accuracy for commercial and financial reporting. These are both based on the Microsoft Dynamics 365 technology stack.

Qualifications

What you'll bring:

• A bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required;
• At least 2-4 years of proven experience in the field of accounting in the United Arab Emirates;
• You are a strong communicator. That implies (near) native in English, both verbally and written;
• You have proven experience and understanding of accounts payable management, VAT return filing, and payroll processing and payments;
• You are very keen on details, structure, and organisation. You take ownership and responsibility to ensure local compliance;
• You have a proactive work attitude, are resourceful and enjoy close collaboration with multiple departments;
• Excellent Excel and Outlook skills.
