Responsibilities:

• Assist in the preparation of financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and reconciliations.
• Analyze financial data and trends to identify areas for improvement or potential risks.
• Conduct research and gather relevant information to support financial decision-making processes.
• Support the budgeting and forecasting processes by gathering data, performing variance analysis, and preparing budget reports.
• Assist in the development of financial models to forecast future financial performance and evaluate strategic initiatives.
• Support accounts payable and accounts receivable research, including customer freight and/or quality recharges.
• Support purchasing functions by monitoring purchase orders, receipts and supplier invoices, and following up on outstanding deliveries.
• Assist in the preparation of internal and external financial reports, including census bureau and government reports ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Help maintain financial documentation and records in accordance with company policies and procedures.
• Support compliance efforts by assisting with audits, regulatory filings, and internal controls testing.
• Ensure adherence to financial regulations and company policies to minimize risk and maintain integrity in financial operations.
• Provide general administrative support to the finance team, including organizing files, scheduling meetings, and handling correspondence.
• Assist with special projects and ad-hoc assignments as needed to support departmental objectives.

Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in a BS or MS degree program in finance, accounting, economics, or a related field. Strong academic background with coursework in finance, accounting, and quantitative analysis.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other financial software applications. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new responsibilities. Prior internship experience in finance or related fields is preferred but not required.
