Accountable for the process control and process information assets of the area including improvement projects, reliable operation, troubleshooting, and optimization aligned to and meeting the achievement of the plant related business goals.
Assist/lead in the review and approval of automation vendors’ design specifications, implementation, testing, and startup of process control systems and manufacturing execution systems (MES). Determine spare parts and outside support philosophy for the process control and manufacturing execution systems.
Develop/Write job procedures and operating discipline specific to automation and MES systems. Review and have input into other job procedures and operating discipline for proper incorporation of operator process automation interaction.
Lead training to ensure plant operators are trained on automation and MES systems prior to startup. Participate in Pre-startup Review and Complete Pre-startup Activities.
Provide leadership and support through daily actions, coaching and guidance to the plant teams and individuals. Assumes aspects of leadership, integration responsibilities and other roles, as appropriate.
Demonstrates priority and commitment through personal behavior.
Supports future process improvements and product development by providing process automation / process information support and input
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in engineering required (Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical/Computer Science preferred), or equivalent.
Experience in process control systems (PLC or DCS) and/or manufacturing execution systems (MES) strategy design, implementation, and support.
Excellent people skills and demonstrated ability to work on a team.
Minimum of 5 years process control and/or manufacturing execution systems experience
Travel requirements should be limited. Some travel will be required for training and projects.
Experience in implementing the principles of ISA-88 and ISA-95 in a manufacturing facility, a plus.
Experience in battery manufacturing and robot programming is an advantage.
