We have end to end accountability for the design, delivery and support of all business systems enabling Dysons global commercial, operational and enterprise business process in 82 markets. The team is arranged into investment areas including Commercial & Connectivity, Retail, Supply Chain & Manufacturing, Product Development, Corporate – and many others.  

About the role

Our business analysts identify, define and document business processes and software requirements to be developed as software. They are the liaison between business and IT teams, facilitating communication and determining business needs.  

This role involves using a diverse range of techniques, including interviews, workshops, surveys, and storyboards, to thoroughly grasp and understand business requirements. You'll play a pivotal role in shaping these requirements by providing recommendations and constructively challenging where necessary to drive improvements in processes and solutions.

To excel in this role, you'll need to develop a deep understanding of the relevant business area(s) to effectively elicit high-quality requirements. Additionally, you'll be responsible for understanding the technical landscape, including options, limitations, costs, and risks associated with the requirements.

Translating high-level requirements into clear, detailed functional and non-functional requirements will be a key aspect of the role. Furthermore, you'll be tasked with managing and resolving competing priorities among stakeholder groups. This involves facilitating discussions and, when necessary, escalating issues to ensure alignment and progress.

Other responsibilities include:

  • Create artifacts as appropriate, including business case documentation, scope documents and process flows 
  • Support the full project lifecycle with any development, testing or business change needs 
  • Manage requirements scoping throughout the delivery process  
  • Devise and plan analysis approach for projects where required  
  • Active engagement within the community of practice, acting as a role model to Interns, Graduates, Associates, BAs and peers  
  • Review of others work to ensure appropriate quality  
  • Promote a collaborative team environment and carry out line management tasks for any direct reports 
  • Developing beyond your core role to build up a multi-role, multi-skilled capability, helping within the project where required 

About you

We are looking for a versatile individual who can swiftly immerse themselves in new business areas, understanding their objectives, structures, and operations with ease. Our ideal candidate has exceptional interpersonal skills, capable of effectively engaging and influencing stakeholders at all organizational levels.

Your ability to see the bigger picture while ensuring individual actions align within it is invaluable to us. Your qualifications include practical experience within the discipline, SME knowledge in relevant IT functions, and a solid grasp of IT procedures and software lifecycles.

Additional professional qualifications in IT, Business Analysis, or related fields would be a significant asset.

Qualifications & Experience  

  • Some years of proven practical experience working within the discipline 
  • SME experience or system knowledge in the relevant IT function 
  • Good understanding of IT procedures and the software lifecycle process 
  • Experience with agile development methodologies and tools  
  • Professional qualifications within IT, Business Analysis or a related field would be an added benefit
