Apprentice Technical Support Engineer at Rapid7

Job Descrption

Are you a person who enjoys technical challenges and thrives to learn and develop skills beyond expectations? Then you are the right person to join our unique support team! We are looking for students who want to be placed on the Higher Level Foundation Degree in Cyber Security with Cloud & Networking Infrastructure

As a Level 5 Apprentice at Rapid7 you will: 

  • Have access to learning tools to aid your personal development

  • Have defined Learning tracks that are designed to help you become a Subject Matter Expert in the world of Cyber Security, Networking, and Cloud Computing

  • Build experience working with and supporting our industry-standard product suite of security tools in Vulnerability Management, Incident Detection Response, and Web Application Security, giving you valuable real-world experience in the Cyber Security industry

In this role, you will:

  • Understand customer’s business objectives and impact using your technical expertise to resolve their issues and ensure customer success and satisfaction

  • Serve as the primary technical liaison between Rapid7 and the customer

  • Follow up, test, and troubleshoot issues as necessary on internal lab environments and customer hardware

  • Partner with our development teams to investigate and provide root cause analysis

  • Manage customers' issues and keep them informed of progress on the investigation

  • Collaborate with various internal departments advocating for your customer to assist them in achieving their goals

The skills you’ll bring include:

  • Being an innovative energetic, inquisitive and creative thinker

  • Outstanding problem-solving and critical thinking skills and able to demonstrate strong analytical and decision-making skills

  • Excellent presentation, written and verbal communication skills

  • Previous experience in a customer-facing role and a passion for working with customers and achieving positive outcomes

  • Having some knowledge or experience with any of the following: 

    • OS Administration (Windows / Linux)

    • General networking troubleshooting

    • SaaS products (AWS, Azure etc)

    • Any relevant previous certification is a plus (CompTIA, Microsoft, Cisco etc.)
