The CPG department works with nationally recognised FMCG suppliers with household brand clients, providing solutions to business challenges based upon our data. The team are responsible for client retention, contract renewal, and revenue growth through products and services which meet the business needs of clients. The overall aim is to boost our client’s market or category understanding whilst building brand equity.

Overview of the role:

The Senior Insight Manager will be a fundamental member of the Tesco account team, supporting Tesco insights, category and trading teams to utilise our insight platform and add customer and industry knowledge to help them improve the quality of their business decisions.

The core focus for the Senior Insight Manager will be to help the client understand data and create insights gathered predominantly from Tesco specific Epos compared to total UK Market Data.

The ideal candidate will need to have an innovative and analytical mind, the energy and drive to challenge established thinking and strive to grow the client’s business through inspiring insight, combined with excellent interpersonal and engagement skills to deliver an all-round service.

We have two apprentices working on Tesco, so for the right candidate there is an opportunity for line management or coaching and mentoring our new talent.  This role will have the requirement to travel to the client’s office (Hertfordshire - twice a week) and Circana’s Head Office in Bracknell (roughly once per month). In the role you will be mentored, trained, and supported to become a high performing member of an ambitious and career development focused team.

 Main Responsibilities

  • Support the embedding and widespread usage of the Tesco Insight Gateway within the client through: Creating and presenting high-level insights from the Insight Gateway, Supporting the delivery of stakeholder engagement including workshops and presentations.
  • Cut through Epos data to identify to the client what is most important with actionable recommendations.
  • Co-ordinate ‘client-ready’ reports, stories, dashboards and presentations, present fact-based arguments influentially.
  • Manage high quality on-going analytic and ad-hoc requests and update all regular business performance metrics.
  • Understand Circana core solutions, learn and maximise the uptake and demonstrate business benefit of all platform enhancements through training, engagement and working consultatively with the client to meet their needs.
  • Utilise creativity in identifying new techniques and processes.
  • Develop and leverage strong, collaborative relationships with external and internal stakeholders.
  • Collaborate as appropriate with other Tesco insight agency partners including Kantar and Dunnhumby to bring richer combined insights on key projects.

 Skills and Experience

  • Experienced in interpreting and translating data into actionable insights.
  • Ability to articulate complex technical knowledge of solutions in a simple impactful manner.
  • Effective team player and proven ability to work remotely as well as onsite with clients across virtual and diverse teams.
  • Leverages mutually beneficial relationships and networks strongly both internally and externally.
  • Ability to proactively manage a client relationship and drive improvements in client satisfaction.
  • Strong project and workload management and proactive management of internal and external stakeholder expectations.
  • Able to engage in a consultative manner with clients at all levels when helping solve/manage content deliverables and critical business challenges.
  • Demonstrated effective communication and interpersonal skills as demonstrated by the ability to use appropriate method to communicate with clients, professional presence, ability to understand and respond to another’s point of view.
  • Great communication and interpersonal skills
  • Proven experience within FMCG, Retail or equivalent industry
  • Demonstrated resilience and sound judgement in dealing with business and corporate challenges.
  • Manages client expectations.
  • Strong project management and process skills
  • Coaching and development of any direct report/s, ability to provide constructive feedback with a focus on improving storytelling skills and best practice use of market measurement data.
