Purpose/Introduction

Essential to our vision to be the premier chemical company achieving superior financial results while protecting people and the environment is a Global Procurement Department that is a credible authority for the strategic purchase of supplies, services and construction, ensuring consistent value across departments and facilities within CPChem.

 

Chevron Phillips is currently seeking a Contract Representative to join the Global Procurement organization. The Contract Representative will fully support the contract needs for Category Specialists/Managers and is responsible for maintaining contracts, supporting various contract administrative activities, included but not limited to: new contract requests, extensions, supplier name changes, evergreen reviews, and drafting of amendments. This individual will support Category Specialists and the Category Manager with primarily contract activities, however, additional responsibilities may include new vendor setup/qualification, safety approvals, managing cost savings initiatives, supporting contract audits, creating contract summaries, and maintaining a log of changes to contracts. This position reports to a Category Manager.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing contracts, contract amendments, evergreen reviews, renewals, and extensions by managing their effective administration in accordance with Global Procurement Policy, Procedure, and Controls.
  • Execute new contract requests (Ariba workspace creation/management, template approval, contract execution).
  • Manage Vendor setup/qualification process.
  • Support on contract administration activities (extensions, name changes, rate changes, ESG language, contract summary review changes, etc.).
  • Complete Evergreen reviews, route for DOA approvals, and make workspace updates in Ariba.
  • Support contract audits as Global Procurement point of contact.
  • Ensure CJFs are correctly completed and loaded to Ariba workspaces.
  • Clean up current Ariba workspaces, and rename with new nomenclature.
  • PQF updates – liaison between Safety and GP to update Ariba records as PQF's are completed.
  • Axia entries/help to manage cost savings and process improvement initiatives.
  • Manage General Procurement inbox for general contracts email; disposition questions/inquiries as needed to appropriate Category Specialist.
  • Work with Legal for confirmation on contract templates to use, to help send and manage contract redlines, and be the liaison for any changes to contract templates or exhibits.
  • Work with our owners to help manage changes to adopted contracts and document.
  • Create contract summaries and keep log of changes/amendments/etc. to contracts.
  • Work with Category Manager/Specialists on annual contracting plans (review current Agreements to verify what is coming due to expire, determine path forward, execute as necessary).
  • Monitor contract reports to ensure Agreements do not expire within 60 days of system/contract expiration date.
  • Promote and upholds CPChem’s commitment to safety both internally and with our contractors.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Travel Details:

  • Position may require travel to manufacturing sites primarily located in the Gulf Coast of Texas as needed.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Purchasing, Contract Management, Supply Chain, Business, or related field.
  • A minimum of 3 years’ experience in managing contracts, terms and conditions for contract
  • development, and providing support to a Procurement or Supply Chain contracting department.
  • Ability to work independently as well as a highly functioning team member with little supervision.
  • Proficient computer skills, including MS applications (i.e. Excel- Pivot Tables, PowerPoint, Word, Access) and ERP.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with multiple departments and stakeholders, including legal, insurance, Procurement, EHS&S, and various individuals across our production sites.
  • Team focused, highly successful with working in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • SAP experience.
  • Ariba experience.
  • Commercial experience within the petrochemical or petroleum refining
  • industries.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects/tasks at one time.
