About Role & Responsibilities

As a technical member of the Core Software and Data Management team, you will work as part of the team responsible for ONTAP WAFL File System. As part of the Research and Development function, the overall focus of the group is on the competitive market and customer requirements, technology advances, product quality, product cost and time-to-market. This position requires an individual who is creative, self-motivated, team-oriented, technology savvy, and driven to produce results for the NetApp business.

 

Essential Functions

  • Apply current software engineering skills and use up-to-date technologies to contribute to team deliverables
  • Contributions to Design, Coding, Debug & Test, Performance analysis & improvement tasks
  • Contributions to technical discussions within the immediate team and across functions
  • Be a technical resource to other engineers and across functions
  • Willingness to work on additional tasks and responsibilities that will contribute towards team, department and company goals

Job Requirements

  • Experience with development with C/C++ in LINUX/UNIX environments. System and Kernel programming.
  • Good working knowledge of operating system fundamentals, Unix/Linux  kernel, memory allocation, scheduling, file systems, kernel debugging, and multithreading.
  • Proficient with algorithms & data structures
  • Experience with applying standard software engineering practices
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other engineers
  • Knowledge of storage or cloud technologies is a plus
  • Strong oral & written communication skills are a plus

Education

•    Typically requires a minimum of 2 years of related industry experience.
•    A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science, a Master Degree or a PhD; or equivalent experience is required.

USA and Canada Residents Only:

The base salary hiring wage range for this position which the Company reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for the position in the specified geographic areas or locations, is $112,230 - $157,740. Final compensation will be dependent on various factors relevant to the position and candidate such as geographical location, candidate qualifications, certifications, relevant job-related work experience, education, skillset and other relevant business and organizational factors, consistent with applicable law.  In addition, the position may include some of the following comprehensive benefits such Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, 401(K), Paid Time off (PTO), sick time, leave of absence as per the FMLA and other relevant leave laws, Company bonus/commission, employee stock purchase plan, and/or restricted stocks (RSU’s).
