Job Summary:

This position will be responsible to identify and pursue opportunities to drive planned revenue growth in citrus and other crops, negotiate deals, and maintain customer satisfaction. Develop strong professional relationships with customers, prospects, industry personnel, and co-workers. Mange designated accounts to achieve long-term success. Primary focus in California with opportunities in other regions.

 

JOb Responsibilities:

  • Strategy:  Develop and implement strategies based on market research to expand on existing revenue and gain entry to new customers and markets. Identify opportunities to present solutions to various crops and markets. 
  • Lead Growth Initiatives: Use industry insight along with product and service knowledge to help inform, influence, support, and execute growth strategy plan. Actively seek new sales opportunities through cold calling, networking, and regular interactions with prospects.
  • Budgeting: Develop sales and cost budgets annually and update regularly.  Prepare comprehensive reports and plans for review with staff and management and institute measures to achieve targets.
  • Account Management: Gather pertinent information regarding customer activities and needs to collaborate with other team members delivering highest level of customer service and satisfaction.
  • Commercial Excellence: Provide accurate and timely information for product forecasting and demand management program. Ensure customer satisfaction of product performance and services.  Implement processes to optimize commercial performance. 
  • Expertise: Become an expert on the product portfolio and services offered by Decco.  Must develop a strong understanding of the treatment and handling of commodities during postharvest phase. 
  • Collaboration and Cooperation: Ability to work through various situations to achieve desired results by interfacing with other team members, supervisors, customers, and industry personnel. Actively listens and communicates respectfully and effectively.
  • Professional Deliverables: Able to construct expert level documents for presenting to customers, industry personnel, and intercompany partners and leaders.  Able to present in a professional manner to individuals or groups.

 

REQUIRED EDUCATION, SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business or similar
  • 10 years’ experience in Business, Commercial, or Sales roles
  • Experience in agriculture business and/ industry
  • Negotiation experience
  • Strong interpersonal skills including influencing, negotiation, and teamwork skills.
  • Professional communication skills, written and spoken
  • Computer skills: Word processor, spreadsheets, and other software

PREFERRED SKILLS, ABILITIES, AND EXPERIENCE:

  • MS/MBA or other advance degree
  • Experience with agriculture chemical manufacturer, distributor, or similar
  • Agriculture experience in postharvest, fruit processing, or similar

  • Budget responsibilities – Yes. Revenue/Margin budgets will be established

 

Travel: Primarily day travel within Southern California region.  Occasional overnight travel to support customers and to attend company meetings, amount TBD

 

Location:  Based in Southern/Central California
