What's new with Aptar 

We have an exciting position open in Cary, IL:  Development Engineer.  This position will be based in Cary and will be responsible for: the conceptual brain storming, concept sketching, CAD modeling, development, and engineering (with Team,) of new products. Your creative work will result in detailed, robust, designs with detailed drawings for both experimental and production components and assemblies. As a CREO CAD Design Engineer, you will play a crucial role in creating and developing detailed designs using CREO Parametric. Your expertise will contribute to the successful execution of engineering projects, ensuring precision, functionality, and adherence to industry and Aptar standards. 

 

This is how your journey begins

  • Strong industrial design and engineering ability required Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders globally. A wide degree of creativity and latitude is expected.
  • Creates 3D models for rapid prototype models and fast tooling
  • Technical Leadership: Provide technical leadership for critical documents, including
  • Component Detail Drawings
  • Customer Assembly Drawings
  • Control Drawings
  • Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (DFMEA)
  • Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) and Tolerance stack-up analysis.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure accurate and compliant documentation.
  • Coordinates changes to the drawings as requested through department procedures
  • Proficient and manages computer hardware and software for the department including: PTC Creo, PDMLink, Rendering

 

What you will bring on the journey

Education

An Associate’s degree in CAD or technical area required; Bachelor’s degree is preferred, or equivalent as determined by management.

 

Experience 

  • 3-5 years of experience in designing tight tolerance plastic injection molded components
  • Proficient in Creo/Pro-Engineer CAD system (part modeling, assemblies, detailing, file conversion, surfacing and rendering
  • Must be creative and inquisitive
  • Must possess strong analytical skills
  • Strong knowledge of plastic materials, mold design and injection molding
  • Team orientation and demonstrated success in a cross-functional environment
  • Taguchi DOE, FMEA and plastic part/mold design training desired
  • Requires excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Ability to identify critical design features
  • Maintain CAD file databases and directories and distribute new production drawings
  • Procures and does final work on stereo lithography, polyjet, etc. models
  • Knowledge in aerosol and non-aerosol delivery systems preferred
