We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic leader to join our finance leadership team as our US Controller. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in overseeing the financial operations and reporting across our US operations, reporting into the Global Corporate Controller. Leading a team of professionals, you will be responsible for managing all financial reporting elements for US entities and branches, day-to-day accounting operations and ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and timeliness of all financial information. You will also help develop and manage our internal control standards and practices in coordination with our various operating departments. 

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Development: Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, fostering a culture of excellence, accountability, and continuous improvement. Promote a collaborative environment that encourages knowledge-sharing and cross-functional collaboration. 
  • US Accounting Operations: Oversee the financial accounting operations for the company's US subsidiaries, ensuring consistent accounting practices, proper inter-company transactions, and compliance with local accounting standards and tax regulations. Responsible for ensuring the overall accuracy and integrity of the financial information as well as meeting all internal and external deadlines.  
  • Oversee global consolidation and ownership of our accounting ERP system, NetSuite. Serve as primary business functional owner of NetSuite and all key reports.  
  • Work closely with Global Tax function for all consolidated corporate tax reporting and ad hoc requests.  
  • Internal Controls: Maintain robust internal control policies and procedures to safeguard company assets and prevent fraudulent activities. Continuously monitor and evaluate internal control systems, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing necessary changes.  
  • Payroll: Oversee US payroll team to ensure employees are paid accurately and on time, in accordance with all local rules and regulations. Ensure all required tax withholdings and filings are submitted in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Set the standards as a leader and coach for increased levels of employee job satisfaction and employee engagement through the development and mentoring of the accounting team. 
  • Drive processes to optimize and automate accounting operations to drive efficient monthly/quarterly close cycles and improve accuracy and efficiency. 
  • Assist in review of external financial statements, including review of consolidated financial statements, footnote schedules, etc. 

Qualifications & Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, Accounting, or related field.
  • CPA, Chartered Accountant or equivalent certification is highly preferred.
  • Progressive, substantive experience in finance and accounting leadership roles, preferably in a public software or technology company.
  • In-depth knowledge of US GAAP and SOX compliance.
  • Strong understanding of software industry business models, including SaaS and term licenses.
  • Experience with managing US accounting operations, including month and year-end closes. 
  • Prior experience with NetSuite preferred.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Proven track record of successfully leading finance teams, implementing internal controls, and driving process improvements. 
  • Successful track record of collaboration and driving results. A “go getter” -- supportive, focused, high performing professional.
  • Ability to build and foster relationships with the organization at all levels and with key stakeholders. 
  • Disciplined, detailed and organized with an analytical approach and attention to detail.  
  • Demonstrated success in leading change management.
  • Willingness and ability to travel as required.
