Young People and Families

Our Young People and Families Hub (YP&F) delivers a wide range of integrated support services that are designed to help resolve complex difficulties experienced by young people and their families/carers. Our Hub works with those in trouble, providing early intervention to those who are in crisis, leaving care, missing from home, or with substance misuse or mental health problems - services support people no matter what their situation, and have demonstrated a high success rate.

Our Merton Risk and Resilience Service is an integrated service, focused on mitigating risk, and promoting resilience, in children and young people (C&YP). Our service aims to reduce the harm to children and young people (aged 18 and under), within the Child Exploitation (CE) and Missing service area, and C&YP (aged 24 and under), within the substance misuse service area.

Job Description

We are looking for a Senior Risk & Resilience Practitioner to join our team. You will be an essential component to our mission and ambition and will:

  • Recruit, manage, motivate, coach, and develop a team including carrying out annual appraisals and regular supervision meetings to manage their health, safety, and wellbeing.
  • Be the designated safeguarding lead in the service and ensure that all safeguarding processes are followed and people are aware and trained in good safeguarding practice to protect service users and members of staff.
  • To manage operational risk, health and safety, governance, and safeguarding issues in line with Catch22 and Commissioner policies.
  • Carry out regular case file audits as per the Audit Policy and Procedure.
  • Be responsible for the allocation of referrals and ensure caseload management structures are in place.
  • Provide consultation, information, training and presentations to other professionals, family, and young people.
  • Work alongside and ensure effective relationships with Children and Families services (CFS) and other local agencies / partner organisations and treatment providers to ensure effective referrals, care, and risk management as well as ease of transition and referral for young people.
  • To act as an ambassador for Catch22, upholding and promoting our corporate values, services and the positive work we do in society at national and local levels. . 
  • Fulfil, at a basic level the responsibilities of the Service Manager in times of their absence. 
  • Be an active member of the senior management team attending, contributing to meetings, and training events as necessary.
  • To ensure all service user information, interventions and other data as required by the contract are recorded on the relevant data management system in line with Catch22’s policy.

Qualifications

Relevant qualification in health & wellbeing, youth provision, counselling or similar.

Training/group work – information education delivery.

NVQ3 Health & Social Care.

Additional Information

Salary - £33,547

Working Hours - Full Time - 37 hours per week, permanent

This post will involve travel around the London Borough of Merton on a daily basis.

This post will involve occasional travel around the UK.

This post will require enhanced DBS.

*This role requires access to a car, and a full driving licence.
