Twinkl is on the lookout for a dynamic and experienced Curriculum Design Lead to spearhead the development of an outstanding curriculum for England. This pivotal role offers an extraordinary chance for someone who embodies a unique mix of talents including teaching proficiency, curriculum design acumen, and adeptness in product management.

As the leader of our curriculum development, you will be entrusted with leading the creation of our national curriculum schemes of work, ensuring the availability and supervising the development of a comprehensive, linear, and progressive curriculum spanning from early years to Key Stage 4 (KS4).

Key Responsibilities

  • Curriculum Development: Lead the crafting of a national curriculum that stands as a benchmark for excellence, ensuring it is comprehensive, linear, and progresses logically from early years through to KS4.
  • Team Collaboration: Work closely with a cross-functional team of educators, designers, and developers to produce high-quality educational content that resonates with and meets the needs of our diverse learner base.
  • Market Research: Conduct thorough market analysis to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities in the educational sector to ensure Twinkl’s offerings remain at the forefront of educational innovation.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Actively engage with educators, school leaders, and other key stakeholders to gather insights and feedback that will inform the development of the curriculum.
  • Product Management: Oversee the lifecycle of curriculum-related products from inception through to delivery, ensuring they meet quality standards, budgetary constraints, and timeline expectations.
  • Vision and Strategy: Craft and articulate a clear vision for the curriculum offering, setting strategic goals and objectives that align with Twinkl’s mission and values.

This exciting and varied role will give you the opportunity to play a key role in the development of the most popular teaching tools in the world and help to meet the needs of thousands of educators.

Remote working and hours:

  • Although we allow flexible working patterns to fit in around family or other commitments, our full-time team members working 37.5 hours per week are expected to complete most of their work during office hours, Monday to Friday. To be considered for this role, you would need to be available around our core hours (10am-2pm) Monday to Friday. You will need to have good daytime availability for training, meetings, collaboration and ongoing CPD, particularly in your training period/first month.
  • Remaining hours outside of the core working times can be agreed upon between you and your line manager to fit around your current commitments and business needs.
  • Essential for remote working - You will need access to a fast and reliable internet connection of at least 6mb down and 1mb upload. We recommend you use speedtest.net to check.

Requirements

To succeed in the role, you will need:

Essential:

  • Minimum of 5 years of full class teaching experience.
  • Deep understanding and experience of whole school curriculum planning and delivery.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and project management skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyse and interpret complex information.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive product strategy and innovation.
  • Exhibits a strong work ethic, passion for the field, and genuine enthusiasm for the work.

Desirable:

  • Proven experience in product management, particularly in EdTech or related fields.
  • Strong understanding of the product development lifecycle, including experience in creating and managing an MVP.
