Job Description

Job Purpose:                                          

Working collaboratively as part of a high performing team, you will deliver effective and fit for purpose solutions to our customers globally. You will use formal design principles and best practice processes to:

  • Modify current products to fulfil approved non-standard product requests (NSPR’s).
  • Provide technical support in a timely manner for both internal and external customers.
  • Identify opportunities to continuously improve our products and processes.
  • Support projects to enhance and improve the core products within area of responsibility as a design authority.
  • Collaborate both with local teams across all functions to ensure Rotork delivers value to our customers.

You will need to be driven and customer focused with a bias-for-action to ensure the delivery of all activities are in-line with key metrics.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Preparation and checking of technical documents and reports.
  • Design to meet internationally recognised standards.
  • Provision of technical support to key internal and external stakeholders as required e.g. Sales, Service, Production, Supply Chain and Quality Departments.
  • Engage in structured problem-solving activities to identify and implement solutions to address root causes.
  • Develop solutions and provide cost estimates in collaboration with all business functions to validate project business cases.
  • Present analysis of results and project solutions to key stakeholders, such as technical leads, senior leaders and customers as necessary.
  • Work with relevant colleagues to develop functional and non-functional test specifications to ensure compliance to requirements.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Technical Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in a Mechanical related Engineering discipline or equivalent experience.
  • Previous industry-based design experience.
  • Proven experience of analysing, designing, testing, debugging, and enhancing products used in an industrial environment.
  • Design and development using structured design techniques.
  • Experience of task management, defect management, requirements capture, verification and validation tools.
  • Experience of using Solid Works or Solid Edge CAD packages is preferable.
  • Use of the Microsoft toolset - for technical documentation.

Required skills and experience:

  • Clear and effective communication skills, able to build relationships at all levels of the organisation.
  • A team player that shares knowledge and insights, but also able to demonstrate a strong level of initiative.
  • Can effectively communicate technical information with a non-technical audience when required.
  • Works effectively with people across a wide range of disciplines and levels (both internal and external resources).
  • Supports and encourages positive working behaviours in others during task fulfilment.
