The opportunity as a Sales Manager:
Due to significant existing and future growth, we are expanding at Shift and looking for a Sales Manager. You will be responsible for creating long term relationships with our business customers and seek out ways to engage new customers to use Shift as their preferred logistics partner. Reporting to the Head of Sales, this plays a vital role in the success of making Shift a household name.
To be successful in this role, we need people that are agile, adaptable and have the ability to understand how a tech solution can benefit very traditional business models. This is an exciting opportunity to join a growth tech business shaping up to disrupt the market.
Responsibilities included as a Sales Manager:
Identify, contact and pitch to prospective new businesses through a range of BD activities including networking, local canvassing and cold-calling
Develop strong relationships with customers, connecting with key business executives and stakeholders
Serve as the lead point of contact for all customer account management matters
Develop trusted advisor relationships with key accounts, customer stakeholders and executive sponsors
Ensure the timely and successful delivery of our solutions according to the customer needs and objectives
Prepare sales reports and clearly communicate the progress of monthly/quarterly initiatives to internal and external stakeholders
Develop new business opportunities with existing customers and identify areas of improvement
Forecast and track key account metrics (quarterly sales results and annual forecasts)
Collaborate with the Sales Team to identify and grow opportunities nationally
Negotiate contracts and close agreements to maximise profits
Continually look to improve the entire customer experience by liaising with cross-functional internal and external teams (Marketing, Tech, Operations, Acquisitions and Customer Support)
Build and maintain strong, long-lasting customer relationships
What you need to bring to be successful as a Sales Manager:
Shift is a tech business; we’re always evolving, growing and changing as an organisation. We are agile, fast paced, creative, and hungry for success.
Proven work experience as a Sales, Account Manager or relevant similar role
Strong track record in growing and expanding new and existing customer accounts
Confident in approaching and securing new business opportunities remotely and face to face
Ability to communicate, present and influence key stakeholders at all levels of an organisation, including at executive and C-level
Solid experience with a CRM software (required) such as Hubspot or Salesforce (desirable)
Excellent listening, negotiation and communication skills
Highly organised and ability to manage multiple accounts at a time, whilst maintaining sharp attention to detail
Ability to travel & driving licence with access to a car
Logistics or Software Account Management experience (desirable)
