The Role
WIRED is looking for a driven, proactive, resilient and competitive Client Manager to drive revenue and partnerships to WIRED’s conference series.
This multi-tasking, customer-facing role requires a commercially-minded sales and business development professional who is bright, articulate, target- and deadline-driven. Excellent written and verbal communication and impeccable phone manners are must-haves, as well as strong interpersonal skills, problem-solving attitude and the ability to keep up in a fast-paced, “all-hands-on-deck”, team environment.
As this role requires decision-making autonomy, negotiations and package-creation, the ideal candidate must have at least 5 years permanent work experience within the B2B events industry in sponsorship.
What will you be doing?
Reporting to the Commercial Director and DIrector, WIRED Events on all activities
Closing sponsorship deals on all of WIRED’s Events and Conferences portfolio
Generating and managing sales leads from research to close
Leading the sponsorship landscape on WIRED’s Events and Conferences
Comprehending topic and audience markets to ensure the success of all campaign delivery for clients
Working with different departments within Condé Nast Britain to help generate larger event partnership revenue
Who you are:
Degree-level education or equivalent
Strong of experience in B2B events sales (full-time roles)
Proven sales success
Willingness to learn, be trained and apply knowledge in the role
Excellent communication skills
Excellent organisation skills and exceptional attention to detail
Deadline- and target-driven
Interest in WIRED, technology and innovation
Self-motivated and independent, but proactive team player with interpersonal skills
Excellent verbal and written communication in fluent English
Advanced computer literacy
Flexible between creative, commercial and analytical skills
Problem-solving, resourceful, can-do attitude
Must have the confidence and topic knowledge to be able to speak to senior-level executives
Where will you be?
This is a hybrid role with 3 days a week in our beautiful Adelphi office, with breathtaking views over the Thames, and next to the hustle and bustle of The Strand.
