This is an exciting opportunity for you to be part of the London Gas Trading Operations organization and will provide demonstrable support to the new Commercial Gas Operations Shift Team members and the wider Gas Operations team in their new roles and responsibilities.
What’s the role?
The Shift Trading Operator is part of a 24-hour shift team which is responsible for the operational management of SE-EE (Shell Energy Europe & Environmental) gas activities in Europe and UK.
This position is for a role within the Shift Trading Operations Team. The team manages the optimisation of the gas portfolio to ensure the efficient nomination of all positions and flows across Europe and the UK. The role will involve working outside of normal office hours and at weekends and overnight.
More specific responsibilities include:
- Trading to optimise portfolio using asset and market spreads across Europe
- Ensure compliance with its contractual and shipper licence obligations, working in line with regulatory and policy requirements;
- Responsible for the accurate nomination and scheduling of equity supplies, trading hubs, storages, interconnectors and pipeline transportation.
- Financial and physical optimisation of portfolio.
- Monitor gas markets, gas flow data and SE-EE portfolio balances.
- Minimise any imbalances
What we need from you
We are keen to hear from individuals with working knowledge of the UK and European gas operations and gas markets. You are a self-starter, who can thrive in a fast-paced environment and effectively multi-task and take ownership of issues from start to resolution. Your excellent analytical skills will be put to use as you focus on portfolio optimization, delivering additional value to our organization. As a team player, you’ll bring in high level of communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate seamlessly with colleagues. Your proficiency in IT systems, especially MS Office, will be an asset as well.
