Global E-Discovery Manager
Role Summary/Purpose:
The Global E-Discovery Manager will be a member of the new GE Vernova Global Law & Policy Corporate team, reporting to GE Vernova’s Chief Litigation Counsel, and an integral part of the team leading the company’s response to litigation, investigations and disputes matters globally and across all of GE Vernova’s business segments. The Global E-Discovery Manager will be responsible for implementing and managing e-discovery programs and protocols globally, driving cost efficiencies, and leading the company’s e-discovery response on key matters.
Essential Responsibilities:
Develop, implement and manage company-wide data preservation and e-discovery programs and protocols in compliance with U.S. and global ESI and privacy requirements
Manage external e-discovery vendors to ensure consistent, cost-effective, state-of-the-art services
Develop tailored solutions for challenging jurisdictions and applications
Educate and support internal legal teams in responding to their data preservation and e-discovery needs globally
Manage outside counsel and associated protocols to ensure e-discovery work is performed cost effectively by the appropriate resources
Collaborate on e-discovery meet-and-confer letters, ESI protocols and production orders
Interact with GE Vernova’s IT teams to ensure new and existing IT systems incorporate appropriate data preservation and collection capabilities
Drive high quality results and time and cost efficiencies through innovation, technology, simplification and workflow enhancements
Develop and report on key quality and cost metrics
Maintain expertise on cutting edge data preservation and e-discovery technologies
Maintain knowledge and expertise on global legal and regulatory standards and provide relevant updates to our legal team
Qualification / Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
Minimum 7 years of relevant work experience, preferably in-house at a corporation or government agency and experience with global data and discovery issues
Desired Characteristics:
J.D. degree preferable, but not required
Tech-savvy
Well-versed in U.S. and non-U.S. discovery and global privacy standards and requirements, as well as evolving standards and future trends
Highly motivated self-starter and proactive problem solver
Proven organizational and analytical skills with extraordinary attention to detail
Ability to work independently in an evolving, fast-paced environment and manage multiple projects while maintaining a high quality of work
History of driving creative techniques to generate cost savings and process efficiencies
Experience with e-discovery related RFPs, contracting and managing external provider panels
Experience in developing and validating technology assisted review programs
Knowledgeable of forensic collection and examination techniques
Demonstrated knowledge of cutting edge e-discovery technologies and evolving standards
Strong interpersonal, verbal, presentation and writing skills
Proven ability to build strong, cross-functional partnerships with a variety of audiences, including legal, technical, and policy teams
Enthusiasm to learn new skills and data technology and to pursue new growth opportunities
Flexible and collaborative team player who is passionate about GE Vernova’s mission
Location:
Candidates who are able to work in Boston is strongly preferred
Willingness to consider some level of remote work
If contracted in the US:
The salary range for this position is $122,000 - $165,000. The specific salary offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including the candidate’s experience, their education, and the work location. In addition, this position is eligible for a performance bonus.
