This hybrid role will be based in our London newsroom in Canary Wharf.
We are looking to expand our picture desk and looking for a Weekend Photo Assignment Editor to help assign and coordinate our photo coverage in the United Kingdom and Ireland.
You will work closely with the Chief Photographer and the entire bureau, including text and TV, to ensure that global and national news of interest to Reuters editorial customers is covered in a timely manner, delivered ahead of our competitors and conforms to Reuters’ standards of quality and ethics.
You will be crucial to how we react to breaking news and will ensure we have the right people in the right places at the right time. The role will involve planning and coordination of both breaking news and coverage of events we’ve planned for months in advance.
We are looking for a responsible self starter with a passion for news, excellent communication and organizational skills, an unflappable temperament, and an ability to effectively prioritize news and tasks. Written accuracy and attention to detail is a key requirement of the job.
