Vice President, IT Asset Management
Overview
IT Asset Management (ITAM) is a foundational element of technology management that is central to Vocalink’s operational and security needs as a regulated entity.
Recently armed with automated hardware and software tooling, the role is to lead Vocalink’s ITAM function through its next stage of evolution, through proactive and towards strategic asset management, implementing and embedding a service design, delivering on associated Regulatory commitments and to establish a go forward roadmap.
This is a highly visible role interfacing with senior stakeholders across the organisation, the wider Mastercard Group as well as external parties, delivering and managing ongoing transformation to this key, evolving and expanding function.
ITAM involves tracking and reporting of all IT assets within Vocalinks perimeter, including hardware (e.g. servers) and software (e.g. licenses and applications) by criticality, owner and service. This information is crucial for effective IT management, Security and supports organisational decision-making processes.
Responsibilities
• Leading Vocalink ITAM’s evolution through proactive and towards strategic asset management, establishing and operating a revised function central to the organisations operating and security needs and embedding its new service design:
o ITAM to be the single source if the truth for hardware and software assets within Vocalinks perimeter / scope,
o Proactive management of the estate, the automated coverage position (scope, exceptions, plans etc.), ensuring clear asset ownership with escalation of gaps plus including reconciliation across disparate tools.
o Ensuring critical assets are identified on an ongoing basis (in order they can be protected).
o EOL/EOS reporting and remediation management with owners.
o Automating asset management / linking automated to reference data.
o Ongoing maintenance of Vocalinks ITAM standard which sets out the functions perimeter, tooling coverage, key definitions including criticality, End of Life / Service, governance / how the single source of the truth is maintained along with roles / responsibilities.
o Asset reporting into various organisational governance forums.
• This in addition to legacy / existing ITAM activity Financial Asset & inventory Management cradle to grave :
o Software Asset Management ; Software Lifecycle Management, Licence Compliance, Software Optimisation.
o Hardware Asset Management ; Hardware Lifecycle, Fixed asset Register maintenance (Physical Assets).
o Procurement ; Purchase Order Reconciliation, VAR Relationship Management.
o Audits & Certs support ; ISO27001, ISAE3000, Mastercard ITAM 2.0 and external.
• Define and enforce methodology compliance surrounding asset management and provide guidance in the development of new or revised processes.
• Ensures adherence to relevant ITAM policies and standards and / or having documented exceptions in place.
• Establishes, documents and gains organisational support to future ITAM strategy / roadmap for 2025 and beyond.
Experience
• Leading IT Asset Management functions or transformations in comparable organisations.
• Establishing, implementing and driving ITAM strategies and practices within these in-line with ISO19770-1 & ITIL4.
• Business outcome-driven and customer-focused, strong orientation to help others in attacking complex problems and getting things done with limited resources and pressing timelines
o Self-motivated
o readiness to take-on stretch goals and to deal with uncertainty
o capable of making strategic decisions through incomplete information
• Exceptional interpersonal skills with proven experience in relationship building and partnering.
• Strong gravitas, exceptional relationship management, influencing and written and oral communication skills
• A proven track record of delivering in complex stakeholder organisations.
• Advanced knowledge and 5 to 8 years of experience in Asset Management methodology.
• Robust knowledge of BMC toolset (Discovery, Helix etc) and Flexera tooling.
