The strategic growth and branding team establishes marketing strategies for the brand and portfolio to manage the P&L and tactic execution, maximizing the upside and minimizing the downside. Main responsibilities:
The US Early Commercial and Innovation Lead will, 1. Maximize cross-functional preparations for launch candidates including management of the LEX (Launch Excellence) process, 2. Lead business cases and US commercial positions for pipeline and business development candidates, 3. Integrate the voice of North America (NA) stakeholders into global process, 4. Proactively identify asset and technology priorities for the long-term success of the NA market
Maximize cross-functional preparations for launch candidates including management of LEX (Launch Excellence) process
Own LEX expertise for NA Commercial and single point of contact for LEX with global functions
Coordinate NA ComOps inputs to align on LEX plans and manage execution for novel candidates (Ex. EXPEC, RSVoa) while overseeing execution of launches within brand teams (eg. RSVt)
Lead the development of business cases and US commercial positions for pipeline and business development candidates
Perform comprehensive assessments (commercial/technical) of potential new product ideas and drive business case development for new assets and technologies (including new product technologies (e.g., packaging, syringe, needle), new digital solutions (e.g., electronic product insert) and new business models (RFID, value beyond vaccine, …)), assessing value add for Sanofi, supporting request for CAPEX & OPEX investments and securing alignment with global partners (eg. F&PS)
Steer local strategic exercise of assessing overall pipeline balance (beyond individual franchise view) to project & anticipate strategic impact (e.g. portfolio evolution and competitiveness over time). Communicate these assessments and aligned recommendations.
Bring an external perspective and scientific expertise, contributing insights, sharing implications and the detailed execution requirements for opportunities under evaluation
Integrate the voice of North America (NA) stakeholders into global processes such as Therapeutic Area Strategy and the Strategy Planning Days
Develop cross franchise vision on innovation and drive thinking on cross franchise topics (e.g. cross franchise combo like respiratory)
Drive strategic exercises, including US portfolio evaluations versus competitors to inform the overall pipeline needs/priorities providing the voice of the US and Canadian markets
Constantly challenge the status quo focusing on the priorities that will deliver the best outcomes and bringing innovation to the NA market
Proactively identify asset and technology priorities for the long-term success of the NA market
Stay abreast of innovation and technology developments, filtering what is important and ensuring information is in the hands of the right people at the right time
Ensure market data and tangible insights are available for key commercial assumptions
Other responsibilities:
Lead a team stewarding potential product/technology assessments, ensuring the team functions in line with company processes and governance bodies and managing and motivating team members
Generate and manage budget including tracking of current year budgets and development of multi-year budgets for planning purposes
Oversight and building alignment with brand teams executing LEX(Launch Excellence) activities, integrating LEX performance for the NA portfolio
Communication of complex information to a wide audience, from senior executives to field sales teams, within and across GBUs
About you
Basic qualifications:
Education/experience
At least 10 to 15 years of experience in the Pharma Industry with strategic and management responsibilities
A robust combination of scientific and business & marketing experience
Confirmed understanding of technological areas such as biochemistry, mechanics, digital, as well as a strong pharma & biological sciences knowledge.
Ability to lead high-value transversal projects and to communicate to Senior Management
Strong communication, analytical, business skills as well as strong leadership capabilities and writing and presentation skills
Strong management experience, with the ability to engage and empower a high functioning team with global footprint
Fluent in English
Preferred qualifications:
US Vaccines commercial experience
Advanced degree in vaccines associated field
US product launch experience in vaccines
