FINANCE HOME PAGE EDITOR – YAHOO FINANCE
Yahoo Finance is the largest business and financial news site in the world, with unrivalled access to data, insights and original editorial content.
We are looking for a Finance Homepage Editor with excellent copy editing and front page curation skills.
You will liaise closely with senior members of the Yahoo Finance UK team and engage with a wide range of premium providers to ensure the mobile and desktop experiences are as dynamic as they can be.
Responsibilities:
Copy edit, proofread, and format finance news and other forms of content
Fact check stories for accuracy
Write accurate and engaging headlines
Ensure content is optimised for search
Curate and programme finance home page and section sites
Monitor news flow
Support various aspects of Yahoo Finance editorial, including: editing, data, distribution, push alerts, newsletters, and general quality control
Liaise with the Product team to improve the mobile and desktop experience wherever possible
Be comfortable using data analytics platforms and interpret that data to inform editorial decisions
Provide editorial quality control to graphics, text on uploaded video, original content, special projects, and more
Flexible working hours will be a necessity in a digital news environment
Required Qualifications:
Strong copy editing skills
Ideally 3 years’ experience in digital journalism.
An excellent knowledge of financial markets and passion for business news
The ability to quickly learn new content management systems and data sources
Strong framing and headline writing skills
Strong communication skills
Strong news judgement for making real-time decisions
Track record of success in a fast-paced newsroom and an ability to collaborate with multiple teams
Preferred Qualifications:
Comprehensive understanding of editorial best practices and style guides
A bachelor’s degree in economics or finance-related subject or equivalent job experience
Editorial SEO and data analytics knowledge is a plus
