Reporting directly into the Finance Cost Manager, the holder of this role will assist with the month-end close process, involving calculating accruals and prepayments and preparing a number of other accounting entries, to succeed in completing accurate and timely financial reporting to UK and US management. Working as part of a dynamic finance team to achieve very tight reporting deadlines, the successful candidate will be a determined individual committed to achieving a successful accounting month end and accurate accounting entries.
Month end cost accounting for certain functions within Equifax UK and Equifax Commercial Services (Ireland)
Work closely with key stakeholders (finance and non-finance) to ensure accurate cost accounting
Provide support to other areas of Finance and the wider business with cost queries
Intercompany costs and foreign currency payments and accounting
Preparation of balance sheet reconciliations
Support the FP&A team with forecasting and budgeting
Provide detailed support and assistance to the external and internal auditors
Manage the rent and service charge payments for 2 UK and 1 Irish site
Update the internal hourly rates for employees and contractors working on projects
Other accounting duties commensurate with the role
What experience you need
Proficient in MS Excel
Candidate should have experience working in an Accounting department. Or, extensive experience working in Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable or other Finance role.
Candidate will need to have a strong desire to be an Accountant and wish to start, or continue with an Accounting qualification
Must be able to communicate effectively and able to build good relationships at all levels of the organisation (financial and non-financial staff)
Must be able to work at speed with accurately in order to hit deadlines and achieve precise results
High level of numeracy and accuracy is required to perform this role
Work experience at a moderate or large business is preferred
An attitude for growth and personal development
Quick to learn and ability to innovate
A strong desire to achieve accurate and timely results
Familiarity with use of Oracle and Gmail
