The Divisional Chief People Officer (DCPO) reports to the Vice President of Team Resources (TR) and is responsible for supporting the Retail Division, including the divisional president and Retail Senior Leaders. Drives success in the division by fostering a high-performance culture, enhancing teammate engagement, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulations. This includes ensuring the Brown & Brown culture is reinforced by a highly effective team of Retail TR Business Partners.

General Responsibilities:
Culture: Understands the Brown & Brown structure, operations, sales culture, and overall culture and works diligently to support the division through Team Resources shared services.
Divisional Strategy Alignment: Strengthens alignment between business and people operations strategies for the division, anticipates complex issues, challenges, and opportunities, and ensures integration with both the wider enterprise TR strategy and the divisional strategic plan. Contributes creative ideas and insights to support the strategy formation process.
Strategic Workforce Planning: Cultivates talent by delivering strategic workforce plans for the division supported by retail TR Business Partners to provide a framework for the sourcing and development of talent and to enable the delivery of the business strategy. Partners closely with the Director of Talent Operations.
Stakeholder Engagement: Identify and manage leader stakeholders including retail senior leaders and the divisional president, finding out their needs/issues/concerns and reacting to these by leading and coordinating the development of stakeholder engagement plans to support the communication of business information and decisions. Must establish and maintain effective business partnerships with the Retail Divisional Chief Financial Officer (DCFO) and Retail Divisional Chief Information Officer (DCIO).
Performance Management: Report on business performance; hold direct reports accountable for achievement of business plans, and take corrective action where necessary to ensure the achievement of business objectives, balancing the need to deliver short term business objectives with the longer term delivery of stakeholder value.
Divisional Capability Building: Identify the TR capabilities needed to meet the current and emerging business needs of the division. Evaluate current capabilities, identify gaps, and prioritize development activities. Embed personal development and the fulfillment of personal potential in the culture of the division.
Relationship Management: Strengthens alignment and partnering relationships with retail senior leaders and divisional business partners in finance and technology, building high levels of professional credibility and mutual trust, and ensuring the delivery of high-quality advice and guidance to support in fulfilling business strategy and plans.
Leading Through Analytics: Optimizes insights using TR data and analytics to support the retail division, leveraging HRIS dashboards and other critical metrics including the BE Our Best engagement surveys; Uses TR data to diagnose underlying causes of key business issues and identifies opportunities to enhance teammate engagement and/or improve business performance.
Required Qualifications:
A BS/BA degree from an accredited college/university; MBA or MA/MS in human resources or related field preferred.
SHRM Senior Certified Professional (SHRM-SCP) preferred.
15+ years of experience in strategic management and leadership across company functions directing substantial resources.
Demonstrated success leading human resources teams with direct responsibility for talent acquisition, workforce development, employment practices accountability, talent management, and leadership development.
Record of forging partnerships with Finance, Technology and other business leaders to collaborate on the development and long-term maintenance of credible workforce plans and talent forecasts, business performance metrics and reports, and strategies to close talent gaps.
Proven results developing teammates to the next level, setting priorities, allocating resources, taking accountability and achieving measurable goals.
Experienced with high-level employment practices. Strong interpersonal skills, with ability to professionally interact with a diverse personalities to influence and reach resolution.
Effective communicator proficient in the development and delivery of presentation materials, analytical reporting, and performance metrics.
Driven to track and measure performance and adjust to meet and exceed goals.
