We are looking for an experienced Head of Design to lead our team of talented designers. Your creativity and strategic vision will help shape our future portfolio.

Elekta’s purpose is to bring hope to everyone dealing with cancer. We realize the devastating impact of being diagnosed with cancer, and we drive ourselves to improve the lives of the people living with cancer by working together with our customers - radiotherapy clinics worldwide - to deliver the best technology in radiotherapy.

Our portfolio is undergoing an exciting transformation to bring together all our products, solutions, and services under a single umbrella, providing users with a unified user experience. 

We have a hybrid setup where employees are expected to work from an office 3 days per week. The candidate could be based out of either Crawley, Helsinki, Netherlands, or Atlanta.

What you’ll be doing

• Lead, develop and directly contribute to a team of designers across the different Design disciplines

• Champion user-centered design principles across the Design, Product Management, and Engineering functions

• Design and deliver a vision and strategy for iterative transformation of the enterprise User Experience, working collaboratively across different functions and business-lines

• Ensure that our products offer a coherent & consistent, unified User Experience across the portfolio

• Lead and oversee Design for products, from concept to launch, ensuring alignment with the Elekta brand identity

• Collaborate with key partners to ensure product safety, reliability, performance, and user experience meet industry standards

• Drive continuous improvement by staying informed about industry regulations and trends and adhering to best-in-class methodologies and standards

What you’ll bring

• At least 5 years working in the Medical Devices field

• At least 5 years in a strategic leadership role

• A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in User Experience Design, Human-Computer Interaction, or related discipline (or equivalent experience)

• Track record leading multi-disciplinary Design teams responsible for managing large complex portfolios

• Passion for UX with a strong desire to advocate on behalf of users and to help others understand the importance of UX

• Enhanced leadership skills with proven experience collaborating and influencing across functions

• Creative thinking, technical skills, and entrepreneurial drive across a variety of products or industries

• Ability to travel domestically and internationally with restrictions
