About the Role
Menlo Security is seeking an experienced Software Engineer to join our Release Engineering team.
The position is full-time and either remote (UK time zone) or based from our Bracknell, UK office. Release Engineering plays an integral role in implementing and executing product release processes. The role supports Menlo Security's engineering by managing the source code management system, automating builds and regression testing, building tools and monitoring used in software deployments, and coordinating and pushing new releases to the production infrastructure.
The Release Engineering team ensures that new software is released in a streamlined manner from development to production. The team establishes procedures and develops tools that are used by both the Engineering and Operations teams. As a Release Engineer, you'll use your strong technical ability to drive product releases across many different systems and teams. You'll work hard to ensure that Menlo Security's products are delivered with a repeatable and scalable process.
Responsibilities
Support and improve our tools for continuous build and deployment, automated testing and release management utilising due diligence and adhering to standards
Own, manage and improve our release process focussing on scale and efficiency
Build and maintain tooling needed during release pushes
Improve current developer experience, supporting and guiding current teams and removing friction
Being an effective enabler for engineering teams to maintain developer velocity
Ensure infrastructure standards are being followed and offering improvements where possible
Requirements
BS degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
At least 4 years experience in software engineering, release engineering, and/or configuration management
Demonstrable experience in designing, maintaining and documenting scaleable and resilient systems and infrastructure with appropriate monitoring with strong security posture
Understanding and experience with Continuous Delivery and Continuous Integration systems
Steadfastly focused on customer experience, preferably having experience working with engineers as customers
Strong focus on metrics and knowledge of how to measure the health of a release and supporting systems
Enjoy working in a collaborative environment, and committed to driving projects to completion creatively and flexibly
Proficiency with one or more scripting languages including Python
Understanding of AWS or GCP
Experience with Docker, Terraform and Ansible
DevOps and on-call mindset embracing “build it, own it, run it”
