Role Overview
We seek an enthusiastic and proactive Engineering Operations Coordinator to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in managing our engineering tools and environments, supporting our engineering culture, and driving process improvements. The ideal candidate will have a background in software engineering or IT, with a strong can-do attitude, exceptional stakeholder management skills, and a passion for continuous learning and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Environment and Tools:
• Identify, manage, and support the implementation of new software... engineering tools across the development team.
• Propose and agree on hardware upgrade strategies to ensure optimal performance across the development team
• Engage with other teams to optimise our collaboration tools and knowledge-sharing spaces to enhance team communication and efficiency.
• Experience or familiarity with C++, Python, Java, JavaScript, AWS, Confluence, and Jira would be advantageous.
People:
• Collaborate with Engineering Leadership to foster a culture of collaboration, learning, and engagement across all tech hubs, including planning and delivering “Dev Day” (our internal developer conference)
• Assist in running the Early Careers Learning Programme to nurture emerging talent.
• Coordinate developer engagement at live sports at events to promote engagement and visibility.
• Work with the wider organisation to drive engagement in volunteering & outreach programs.
Process:
• Assist in defining engineering metrics to ensure effective reporting and process improvement.
• Support the creation of estimates and resource management to optimise project planning and execution.
• Help to maintain organisational structures and document process and guidelines to drive efficiency within the development team
Technology & Innovation:
• Aid Engineering Leadership in promoting a culture of technology learning and innovation, by helping to run hackathons and hack-days.
• Manage the learning plan to ensure it aligns with the technical direction of the business, including booking conferences and facilitating demos and knowledge-sharing events
• Work with developers to ensure our intellectual property is understood and well-managed.
Candidate Must-Haves
• Background in software engineering/IT or similar
• Degree qualifications in computer science/engineering/IT or equivalent is preferred
Proactive and independent work style with a can-do attitude.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, capable of collaborating across multiple teams.
• Effective time management and prioritisation abilities.
• Experience in project management and change management.
• Eagerness to learn and contribute to the running of a large engineering team.
